Who else is on a John Piper streak?

My ex-girlfriend was totally demon possesed. After witnessing myself those demons flee in Jesus name I became a firm believer and follower of Jesus Christ. Jesus is so real !!

Korea's rampant with possessed people. A lot of women whose families have a history of shamans (mudangs) get stuck with unclean spirits. And they testify that if they refuse to be the vessel for the spirit, the spirit makes them super ill. When such woman undergoes a rite in which she declares her commitment to the spirit (and becomes a mudang), she dances on knife blades while ecstatic in her possession (personally, this reminds me of the knife-slashing rituals of Baal in 1 Kings 18:18). Many mudangs make a living from telling fortunes (very reminiscent of the fortune-telling slave girl in Acts 16:16). Mudangs cannot even continue their normal lives with their families, so please pray for God to raise up more godly exorcists and sound teachers. God bless,

This has helped me tremendously. I lead a college ministry at Kutztown University and this happened to me almost identically like it happened to pastor John. The girl had grown up practicing voodoo in Honduras and thought she was interacting with the Holy Spirit but instead invited in a pretender spirit. It was horrifying and I didnt sleep wel for almost 2 years. Praise Jesus that he loves sinners so much that he refused to eave us here without grace and the Holy Spirit.

I believe my older brother has demonic oppression in his life. He keeps talking to spirits in his mind out loud. He also talks to his spirits in his mind around our house and his head is really red. He reckons he has "mild" schizophrenia, but what he is manifesting around the house is a different story. He swears a lot saying the "f" word, he shoots and booms around the house while pacing around the house. He also is a heavy smoker which the smoke gets passed around while pacing around the house I feel sorry for my mum and my son at times. We are a christian household and are bible believing christians. We are in West Auckland, NZ by the way. We never allow in our household to swear and use cuss words like the "f' word. I am convinced of this and nothing will change my stance over this. I know that God tells us to love another as he has loved us. I understand that. God is Love. In my life personally, I am trying to grow more in my faith and sticking to God's Word which I am doing, thank goodness for that. In the mean time, I look after the house, vacuuming cleaning, put dinner on at times, do the dishes, look after my son for 2-3 hours after school before my mum gets home from her school. I don't mind doing these jobs, these I can do. It is my older brother when he is talking to his spirits in his mind, he gets my family uptight. I love my older brother, I have to. This is what God's Word says. I just know that what he is manifesting from his mind is not normal behaviour. Yes, I totally love Mr Piper's honesty here. Demons are not a game or a show, people may or may not be under their influence. I mean some are and others just want to be, induce themselves into the expectation of others. In this testimony we see clearly the LOVE of students for the girl, the pastors careful approach, the word applied as it is all of it more a reflection of the Lord teaching out and rescuing a soul from the clutches of darkness. A Christian friend of mine knew a woman with significant precognitive abilities prior to becoming a Christian but lost them after she became saved. Only then was it realized that she likely had a demon similar to the girl in Acts 16:16. No one suspected her plight since she never came close to manifesting the stereotypical characteristics portrayed by Linda Blair in the movie The Exorcist.

The reason that I’ve come to this clip is because as I re read the gospels and Acts. Deliverance and the identification of “impure spirits” seems like an almost daily thing...so my concern is whether we have become blind to recognising impure spirits at work and whether we should be directly commanding them to go more often??

As Born-again bible-believing, saints and priest of God we should submit ourselves to God, (to be under his influence) then we can resist the Devil and he will flee from us. this applies when confronting demon-possessed people. We should walk in the Spirit under God's direction. when dealing with them. Jesus said: Behold I give unto Power to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over ALL the power of the Devil, And NOTHING by ANY MEANS shall hurt (harm) you. God has given us total Authority over the works of the Devil and his entire demonic hierarchy. God has not given us -the spirit of fear(thats of the Devil) But that of Power! Yeah, I can see that. And I feel like possessions are probably called mental illness here in the states, but unfortunately these folks will never be treated with the Son of God.

I have been born again yet only a few weeks later demons of occultism, psychoses and psychedelics were cast out of me through Jesus Christ. It was very extreme but I was calm and at peace the entire time. Even though I felt like an inside out spider breaking it's knees. Jesus went through so much more for our sins: without the Father standing him by. If you have any questions about possession and expelling demons I can probably tell you what you need to know from first hand experience.

In my highschool yrs I did astral projection. Could with my mind fly to far away locations...my physical body stayed in bed. Never studied how to do it. The very first time I looked for answers found a paperback occult book. It had info on various occult practises including astral travel. Wow ..now at least I knew what to call it. Anyways that summer I prayed to God and had a very powerful encounter with Him ( by His grace ) never did I astral project after becoming a believer and follower of Jesus!!! But wanted to know what the Word said about the occult if anything. Well over 400 verses .... Witchcraft sorcerers witches divination demons enchanters astrology familiar spirits... I agree with this pastor...just keep it simple. Allow the presence of God with our faith in Him and we have to be living a Godly life...to pray for those with bondages. If a demon is in that person ...who cares what kind of demon it is....it's a demon so if it manifests we just command it to leave the person or building ( if it's a haunted room / house ) in Jesus Name. The demon(s) will have to submit and go.... God is God and He is 1 billion times more powerful and more than the devil or demons who are mere fallen angels. The delivered person must accept Jesus as their Saviour and must pray read Word and live a life pleasing to God. Righteousness . Four yrs after becoming a believer I sparked an newspaper story about two ex satanists who became Christians. It was a couple. The Sat am when the paper with the story came out...a few hrs beforehand I awoke from my sleep and stayed awake !!! Why??? 30 minutes later at 3:30 am a very very evil invisible presence was at the corner of my room. It literally felt like : EVIL x 1000 !!! I got sooooo afraid !!!!!! Then felt it slowly come across the room....got the idea to pray....In the Name of Jesus get outta here... even though the devil or demon was invisible I knew it exited in a west direction out by the window area !!! Wondered why this would happen? ( 1977 and was a college student ) then thought hey maybe the reporter decided to go with the story ....was a long time since I gave him info about ex satanists becoming believers in Jesus. Bought the paper and there was the 1/2 story. "Satan worship...emerging out of the Shadows " The first church I attended the pastor Rev Les Pritchard was a wonderful man of God. He mainly stuck to the very positive stories/teachings of scripture but this one time he gave an example of a demonic encounter he had. Boy was I surprised. He barely ever brought up that subject or any scripture along that theme. He said when he was a young pastor married and with two younger children something unusual started happening. On Saturday evenings at bedtime his kids would make a fuss and cry ...he had to go to their bedroom many times to comfort the two kids. Well they slept well for the next nights but on Sat. a repeat performance ...kids crying ....Pastor Pritchard was very tired and his service to minster was compromised in the church services on Sunday. Anyways this went on and on....kids crying Sat nights...then as he opened the kids bedroom door he saw 2 demons !!! One taller and a shorter one. Instantly he prayed for them to go and not come back in Jesus Name. Poof the demons vanished and the kids slept well 7 nights a week afterwords. Ephesians 6:10-20 believers should read daily. Lucifer 1/3 angels rebelled in heaven....satan tempted and deceived Adam and Eve ...satan demons give people powers ....Deuteronomy 18:10-12 ....Devil tempted Jesus....legion of demons in one man ( gospel story) warfare Ephesians ch 6....... 1John3:8 Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. Anti-Christ in the last ..666 ...number of beast..buy or sale cashless society so on... We are in the Matthew 24 days one sign is pestilences ...viruses...yes Covid 19. Satan has a plan ...abortion cults crime drugs evolution lies porn fornication adultery love of $$$ ( ok to like $ ) divorce suicide depression and the occult witchcraft Wicca new age satanism psychics mediums ouija boards tarot cards astrology spirit guides spells haunted buildings / graveyards..divining rod...astral projection...crystals....occultic meditation ...charliecharliechallenge ...UFOs / Alien beings / sleep paralysis are all demonic manifestations / sourced .....divination ...witches...sorcerers .....enchanters...100 's of forms... Jesus is greater.... I had an experience like that too. I have a sister who is mentally ill. And one day she went crazy. First, she went to public naked. I don't remember how we got her home, but my mom did somehow. My mom was working and I couldn't leave her alone so I stayed home with her. I didn't want to leave her alone in her room because I got the feeling that I had to keep talking to her so that she could say things back to me and be logical and don't go insane. My both parents were working so I had no one to rely on. I was staying with her in the living room and kept talking, really wanting that either of my parents could come and help me. She gradually became worse. I found out that there are two people who are talking to her and she can't figure out which one is lying. Anyway I'm the kind of a guy that don't go insane at all even in a really bad situations. Maybe you'll know what I'm talking about if you are like me. There are people just don't get influenced by things much. So confident that I am, I asked her if she could give me the devils. I wanted her cured. I knew I'm strong. I knew I could fight back. She said ok. She looked at me directly and made a squeezing face and a little noise. I didn't avoid her eye contact because I wanted her to be well. I sensed that something is blocking. I said to her you can't do it? She said she has to yell and is afraid that I might get scared. I said it's ok. And as soon as I said it's ok, she screamed. And I can say to you that DO NOT EVER DO WHAT I DID. The screaming was like nothing I have ever heard. You don't know what is out there. A mom who lifts a car when her baby is in danger is real. Her scream was like a sound that was about to tear my ear off. I did not know that a person could make a such loud and thunder like noise. There was no human trace in that scream. I was so suprised and made a scared face so she noticed. She asked me if she can continue, and I knew that it was my limit. I said no I'm scared. She stopped. I know that if she continued she might have been successful because I knew that when she broke the confidence in me she opened a door that she was over me and she could make the situation to go however she wanted to go. You know why having siblings is good? Because we care about each other. I felt that she didn't want my harm by giving me the satans. As much as I cared about her, she did too. She kepted them. I love her. Please pray for my sister. I don't care I die tomorrow if she can be cured. Please help me and my family Lord.

Hi. I'm a Christian who has suffered a bit with mental illness. I take medication to help with what seems to be a bio-chemical imbalance. I also pray to my Father who is unseen. I think people are misrepresenting The Christian's viewpoint when they imply that we are attributing all mental health or physical illness to the demonic. Jesus casts out demons in the bible to restore health but in other cases a miraculous healing by Christ seemed to address only a physical condition.

Far more things are caused by demonic oppression than Christians care to think about. I get Piper's reluctance to call everything demonic, and he's right in that we should be somewhat cautious, but I can state boldly that every person I've prayed for dealing with panic attacks or suicidality has been delivered by Jesus of demonic oppression. There are literal spirits (God has not given you a *spirit* of fear) which afflict people, and we're called to drive them out. A full third of Jesus' miracles were deliverance. The church today needs to understand this more than ever.

1JOHN5:18-19... apostle John lets us know that the adversary and demonic forces are at work in the world, and even if you are Born of GOD (Born From Above or Born Again) we still have to guard ourselves, that we can become portals to these unclean spirits if we love the things of the world, but that if we stay One in Christ Jesus, these unclean and demonic spirits cannot touch those that are Born of GOD. And we do have to differentiate between our fallen flesh, carnal self, and our own doings and choices, from demonic spirits that try to affect us. In Christ Jesus' Name, those who are Born of GOD, have authority over demonic spirits, so, if we stay away from the things of the world and all its darkness that can open portals in us, then we are Protected in the Name and Authority of Christ Jesus, the Name which is Above every other name {PHIL2:9-11}... - If we submit ourselves fully to GOD and are Born From Above through Christ Jesus' Faith within us, if we resist satan and his demonic forces, they will flee from us in the Name of Christ Jesus {JAMES4:7} - In MATT 10:18 Christ Jesus tells us that during His Ministry on earth, satan was cast out of Heaven, that he no longer has access to the Throne of GOD so he no longer is the accuser of the brethren - satan has no access to GOD anymore and is under the control of GOD... - JOHN16:11 tells us - "...concerning Judgment, because the ruler of this world is Judged." (that the Cross brings Judgment by triumphing over evil; satan has been Judged already)...and that Christ Jesus triumphed over satan, descended into the grave for 3 days, proclaimed his Victory over satan {1PET3:19}, and took the Keys to the grave and death... "Having STRIPPED the principalities, powers, and authorities, He made a public display of them (were displayed in proof of Victory), having PEVAILED OVER THEM (triumphed over them) {COL2:15; EPH3:10}. satan and all demonic forces are a defeated enemy - they can no longer keep us separated from our Heavenly Father and His Throne because of Christ Jesus' Victory over them..."O, death, where is your sting? O, grave, where is your victory?" If we are Born of GOD, stay One in Christ Jesus, through Christ Jesus' Holy and Powerful Name, we have authority over satan and demons.

That's strange, the apostles cast them out in the name of Jesus. They did not sing Charismatic carouses or read the Scriptures to them--they told demons to leave.

My wife says she was possessed as a kid. She had gone to clean her sister potty in an outside latrine and out of nowhere 3pigs came and entered inside her. For 3 years she could just start screaming out of nowhere and she says she felt like she was in another world. She also started to become deformed and could not walk straight so she frog marched. All this time her church was praying but nothing. One day in hospital as she was waiting to go for an MRI, their pastor comes to see her and they pray. Immediately she got well, stood up and that was the end. She didn't go for the scan.

I've had deliverance from a recommended feed of predators and self-aggrandizers calling themselves exorcists. Then I started blocking these liars, and Amen, I was delivered.

piper is indeed baptist, but like most baptist have a love for the word of God and his people. I have learned a lot from his teachings. i will say that no one has everything right as far as doctrine, theology, interpretation etc. no denomination has it all, but all have truth to them. pray that the holy spirit lead you and examine everything! dont believe everything you hear. God if they are not against us then they are for us, no reason to fight and demean anyone. let the love of Christ shine through you!

No, I haven't, but when I prayed for the demon to come out of someone I knew well, it was like turning a switch off or on. Immediately the person went back to being himself. Christ expelled this demon, not I. Of course, if that person made use of this opportunity to return to God is unknown to me.

@gavindaley that word altar is not very good usage because the bible still stands firm over demonic possesion and we dont "altar" our theology due to demonic possesion... our study of god comes from first the scriptures... I dont think it comes from anywhere after the scriptures solas scriptura

Hi Scott, I took a quick look. While I believe that God can and does heal, I think the idea that we need never be ill or take practical medicines for those illnesses is unscriptural.

So how are you going to distinguish between demonization and intoxication if they are basically the same and symptoms are described perfectly by both explanations...

What happened to the girl after that? She went to church for 7 months, but did she become a believer? Is she still alive, I hope so, I'll be praying for her.
