I bought one of those diamond testers from online, and it works great. My wife and I use it to test the stones that we find sometimes in rings that were lost and other things. Plus she had me check all of her jewelry and her wedding ring. It works great like I said, God bless you

Thanks Chris, your effective clarity and simplicity is awesome 👏 hey Michael I have a question for you but dunno how to tag you… maybe someone else could offer an answer if you don’t see this ‘reply’. Anyhoo’ I also bought one of those diamond tester thingies off Amazon-top seller etc. YET! It has been indicating/beeping etc. that many quartzy minerals I’ve been testing- are diamonds ( yes I followed the instructions and double/triple checked) so, my question is: how did you know for 100% sure that the objects you tested were actually, really the ‘real Macoy? I ask respectfully and sincerely. Did a jeweller or a seasoned gem/mineral human run alternative tests? Or use a different model? Warm regards and thanks 🙏 💎 🌲

Oh, just thought I should probably add that after my initial excitement …that I had somehow stumbled across a ‘shed-load’ of diamonds lol😂 I subsequently used the scratch test/Mohrs + rel density tests plus long and shortwave UV illumination/spectrometer etc. but sigh :) nary but chalcedony, quartz, calcite, agate, citrine, etc. not dissing those! (All beautiful and fascinating) but It DID make me question the general efficacy of the top-selling ‘gem testers’. :) (I also considered mayhem I’d bought a ‘dud’ but a bit of scratching on the web confirmed they’re not (the testers) all ‘diamonds’ ;)

. On many of my wifes jewelry they were bought from jewelry stores and guaranteed to be diamonds, and yes we have had many of them officially tested at different jewelry stores. One thing about those diamond testers is you have to make sure that their warmed up of course, and there is a size of the diamond sensitivity type of adjustment that you have to make. If you have it set incorrectly they can perhaps sometimes alert on a non Diamond type of stone, but not usually. Anyway best regards, good luck to you.

@@ChrisRalph have you any thoughts on The Devils Hole in Ash Meadows & The Kokoweef being tied together by a branch of the Armagosa River that runs from Ash Meadows through the West edge of Pahrump valley to Sandy Valley then to the Kokoweef by Primm on down to Mexico. Did you know that for rea ,l that when there are earth quakes 2000 miles away in Mexico it causes tidal waves in the devil hole. I think The devil hole is a blow hole & so is the Kokoweef. That would explain where all the material between the hanging walls and the foot walls has gone in the Devils Hole. The water and air stoaped it away from underneath.did you know that they haven't found the bottom of the Devils Hole. They stopped diving at 500 feet. I'm a native Pahrumpkin. There are somethings out in that desert that will make a guy scratch his head .

Absolutely enjoyed your videos, always on the outlook for new ones. Born in west Africa with quite a bit of experience in gold, never done any mining though, had the opportunity to visit a couple massive gold mines owned by major gold mining companies, Some of the world's largest. Had the opportunity to buy a couple diamonds, had them cut and polished in Europe, turned out very beautiful, however ended up at a loss due to the rampant cheating by local sellers. Read many stories in the local newspapers of naive Americans who got cheated out of large sums of cash, buying trash for gold. Will now get back to utube looking for more of your most informative, honest, and enjoyable videos...Keep them coming. M.K.

@@ChrisRalph I've learned so much about alluvial deposits of diamond and Placer gold and about epithermal crystalline gold from you. I can't thank you enough. Any gaps in what I learned about diamonds from you I was able to fill in with info from GIA webinars. All I've done for the past 6 months is study the geology of gold and diamonds and indicator minerals and I have learned that my town is basically sitting on top of a gold quartz motherlode. The hills behind my neighborhood are the source, the creek next to my neighborhood which passes along the bottom of the hill contains lots of clay placer gold veins running through the center, as well as crystalline gold nuggets from epithermal vents which spit out into small side channels which all converge at the mouth of the creek where the flood plain levels out flat and there just so happens to be a kimberlite pipe situated on the mouth of this creek where blue ground diamond bearing kimberlite can be observed on both banks. All these geological conditions make for some pretty amazing alluvial deposit finds when combing the sands of the creek. Thanks to you Chris Ralph I have a stupid amount (good stupid), of rough diamonds of all varieties from black to orange to clear to even some blues and I have a ridiculous hoard of crystalline gold nuggets and quartz gold crystal specimens. As well as a handful of other raw materials like platinum, palladium, silver, etc. I've even uncovered a fair amount of fossils whilst digging for eluvial gold in the hills which host the quartz gold source. I've learned that the hills behind my house have recorded finds of Mesozoic fossils and was once an old gravel pit mine. The flood plain creek mouth I mentioned earlier is also a mine with previous gold occurrence, according to mindat.org my town has 9 mines in it. This town seemed like such a desolate depressing shit hole for so many years I could not imagine why anyone would settle here. Now I understand why, and I can hardly walk outside without finding a gold vein or nugget of some kind, not to mention a fair amount of strange gold rich diamondiferous kimberlite which look like big gold nuggets with big prehistoric looking diamonds in it often including small fossils. It's almost unbelievable, and I wouldn't believe it if the geology didn't make so much sense. It's all thanks to you because now I have eyes that can see and to you I owe my most sincere gratitude. Thank u Chris Ralph youre an inspiration. Ps: I know what youre all thinking and yes I know how to tell the difference between quartz and diamond. I can visually identify the diamond crystal structure and adamantine luster and host rock kimberlite breccia, then I execute the mohs hardness test with a piece of quartz7 and corundum 9. Lastly if it passes the hardness tests I use my diamond selector 2 once the stone is cleaned for my final confirmation. It's all thanks to u Chris Ralph, you created a monster. Since the love of my life left me all I have been consumed with is learning how to prospect and mine for gold and diamonds. Thank you thank you fucking thank you dude I love ya brother!

Glass is technically a liquid. GO to a very old building, such as about 200 years old. Compare the thickness odf the top of the pane and the bottom of the pain. The bottom will be thicker than the top because a glass with be affected by gravity.

Touch it with an acetaline torch. If it burns after a minute, it was a diamond. ( Don't do that unless you have a lot of money to literally burn though) i have a small sodalite skull with rough carbonado eyes . It's cool but also worth $30 -$50 lol. It won't make me wealthy and I don't need anyone to verify that . 😂
