The Moodies were the most influential musicians of my teenage years. Their songs touched me profoundly, and while some of my friends felt they were boring musicians, I believed the Moodies were almost preaching with their lyrics. To me each song had a profound message that literally touched my soul, and to me that produced what I felt was a real spiritual high. Starting with Days of Future Passed, each succeeding album was eagerly anticipated and every single one released did not disappoint. Still to this day I get a tingle in my chest when I play some of my favorite Moodie ballads. I know that there are many of you out there who feel the same way about our beloved Moody Blues.

@earthtruthhunters…..actually, in 5 short years (1967-1972) The Moody Blues released a run of 7 albums, often referred to as “The Core 7”. From “Days Of Future Passed” in ‘67 through to “Seventh Sojourn” in ‘72. Many folks (myself included) believe these albums to be the band’s finest works.
@earthtruthhunters1642
@earthtruthhunters1642 3 жыл бұрын
@@lindadote you are absolutely correct. Threshold of a dream or 7th Sojourn, I am loathe to say one is better than the other. All 7 albums remain some of the deepest, most mystical music ever written. And I doubt those tiny purple pills had anything to do with my coming to that conclusion. Although, I could be wrong. Bless you today and God bless the Moody Blues.

As being of a certain age (74) I too, extoll the power of the Moodies. The ideas in their first seven albums (the sacred 7) were the messages I needed to hear at the time. I still live my life by them. So far ahead of their time. And like the difference between shoot-em-up games and Myst, the Moodies are a unique and shining example of excellence.

RIP to Mike Pinder...The last original & co-founder of this incredible group of musicians. Saying ‘band’ seems hollow regarding the Moody Blues. I got turned on to them at 12, b/c my college sis had their music. And all the greats of that time. I was done!👍 Lost count how many times I saw them over the decades since 15. I liked your comment. Would never thought of it that way. This channel puts it mostly new age, which is no surprise. But I don’t think I will hear this again, w/o thinking of God’s mighty hand forming all Creation.🙌 I look so fwd to what’s waiting for those who love Him, for all eternity. We can’t even imagine! With this now sour world as it is, I’m ready to move on as soon as He calls!👍 I’m so hoping Mike found his way to Jesus, too. And the rest of them, who’ve gone before us.✝ I’m going to focus more on getting the Best News Ever out, to all w/an ear to hear.♥✝🙌 Time’s not on anyone’s side at this point. And ppl need to know that what awaits is beyond their wildest dreams! (no pun intended) _If_ they choose Him. Seems you have, too. :). Don’t be shy in sharing. 😁

My favorite album early on and for all time is The Children's album. It ties my then girlfriend, now wife to happy times in college with friends doing a rather rare thing for its time, spelunking or, caving. Hard to explain, easy to feel. No doubt, apart from the sheer consistent genius and deeply textured indelible sound, it WAS chick make out music.

This group has always been so much more to me than just the music ! They have touched my soul and keep teaching me important lessons . They were overwhelmed by the phominom years ago and published Were just a singer in a rock and roll band but the magic lives on . There music instantly transports me back to 1970 when I was just 18 and ready to take on the world and now at 66 I still am ! and don't ever forget who I am or what I stand for . And when I am troubled and lack direction a couple of moody's tunes and I'm wound back up for another go at changing the world ! :) I hope others share this magic too !

i've been a moody blues fan since "go now" but only recently have rediscovered the group and how deep and true their lyrics are. their music ( yes rappers and millennials, THIS IS MUSIC - instruments and all-:) was, i think, in an era where spirituality barely was mentioned, if at all fro my recalling. i say spiritual because this is how i feel about their lyrics. and this must be true because when i mention how deep/spiritual their songs are, my wife just gives me a "uh-huh" and goes back to sleep-:)

The Moodies were among the best messengers of the idealism 60's and 70's. The optimism of the youth then seems to have disappeared by the end the 70's. What happened? I pray the the next generation or 2 will see a revival of that collective spirit. Keep spreading the word by spreading the music of that time. This music and its message are timeless. The Moody Blues are perhaps the pinnacle of rock music and more than anyone else realized its potential. Their seven album run in seven years consists of dozens of the most recognizable songs, with melodic hooks rivaling The Beatles and lyrics / themes that went far beyond. No other progressive rock band had this consistent run including Yes and Genesis. And, what other band had five musicians that created this synergy, each a top-form songwriter. The odds another band comes along like this? . . . the universe knows!

My Dad worked with Me in my Sunoco Station back in 71. I set up a nice stereo system with an 8 track player(loop), in the work bays. The Moody Blues would play from dawn to dusk, Dad never complained about the music. I took that as a sign from the Great Magnificat. I saw them November 17th 1978, one of those evenings that You never forget. Even as We walked back to my car there was a feeling of oneness that hung in the air like a London fog. There will never be another rock band like the Moody Blues. Much love to fellow Fans. :)
