Ya for sure so much more pain than labor. I almost died. I had to be cut open because they hit a vain and I started bleeding internally. Was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks. It sucked. Lost 40 pounds that was the only good thing.

I also drove myself to the ER feeling horrible. My husbands and daughter went on a hike and I didn't join them because of how I was feeling. When I got to the ER they immediately admitted me and I had surgery to remove my GB within hours. I remember the doctor said "yours was the angriest GB I've ever seen". The difference in how I felt afterwards was incredible!

I had my gallbladder removed 7 years ago this year on April 19th. They discovered that mine was just taking up space and not even working. My ejection fraction was at 0 when it's supposed to be 75-100%. Just 2 weeks later I was in surgery and I felt so much better after.

I know what you are going through. I had my gall bladder removed too. Lots of inflammation. And the worst part of the recovery was the trapped air in the abdominal cavity. It killed my right shoulder for like a week or 2 and nothing relieved that pain. But you are a soldier and you got this!!!

Dude, I am super surprised you didn't have to wear compression stockings for days after surgery. I needed to wear compression stockings for ages after I had laparoscopic surgery in January. Hope the gas pains are easing and you start feeling better soon. Please be careful and ask for help when you need it, abdominal surgery is no joke.

I know exactly how you're feeling because I had the same thing going on with my gallbladder. It was packed with stones and they made the same incisions on my stomach. Thank God I didn't have to have emergency surgery though. But I was in a lot of pain as you. praying that you recover well.

Mine gallbladder removal went infectious. In and out of the hospital 6 times over a month. 3 1/2 liters of fluid drained off. 2 external drains and a stent internally for drainage, just had it removed the other day. IF IT HURTS SSOOOO BAD AFTER REMOVAL, YOU CANT TAKE IT OR BREATH, DO NOT LEAVE THE HOSPITAL. Oh and 2 different hospitals. For the two external drains alone, $38,000.00 Surgery. Thank goodness for insurance.

He is not exaggerating. I was finally in bed for 4 days In pain. The fifth day I finally could get out of bed and called my doc. He got me In a few hours later. Sent me to the hospital for tests and a referral to a surgeon . I had to wait another 4 days after weeks of pain and a final 4 unbearable days and then another 4 to get scheduled. Or go to another surgeon I didn’t know. I ended up having an “ m & m” size stone and a severe ulcer at my pyloric sphincter , or the part of the stomach that leads out of the stomach at the muscle that leaves the stomach. My bowels has stopped moving about 2 weeks before the pain was severe and eating was very difficult to nil. Don’t wait even if you are very tough and have a high pain tolerance. There is such a thing as gallbladder cancer. Rare but exists.

I lived with the pain for over two years.....because I had three large stones (like 3 peas in a pod-not). It was like a knife either constantly in my back or alternating between my back & under my ribs on the right. My sister on the other hand, had y’all bladder attacks. A stone would try to pass and she would be doubled over, vomiting and in the ER. For her after two attacks, they did surgery. Her gall bladder was like a “bag full of small marbles”. And yes, the diseased gall bladder is the devil incarnate!!! I had 4 small incisions waaaay back in 1993-going on 32. I’m now 58 and still wouldn’t wish that pain on my worst enemy. Hope you bounce back better than ever. 😊👍🏼 **you are so right so right about the air inflating your abdomen, it happened to my sister, but not me. You see, I had my four sons in just under five years & my abdomen was very accustomed to being “inflated”. 😆

I don’t miss my gallbladder in the slightest. The doctors kept saying I was too young and didn’t have stones but I was in agony. They finally did a function test and I only had 20% function. Same plan, waiting for surgery. I ended up admitted and having it taken out sooner. Thankfully they took it out, because my surgeon said it had completely failed and had begun to become necrotic. It wasn’t even recognizable as a gallbladder anymore.

Yep, this is familiar. In 2006 I had my gallbladder removed on a nearly emergency basis. I had a fever, went to E.R., found out I had a massive kidney infection that they had to treat b4 they could do surgery. Found out I was full of gallstones. That waiting period of waiting for surgery was miserable. I was sweating profusely, nauseous,etc. After surgery I found out my gallbladder had actually died in my body and had to be chiselled off my liver. My gallbladder was put in a bag so that it could be removed in one piece, cause it was dead. I had to have 4 incisions instead of typical 3. My surgeon said I had had gallbladder disease for 9 yrs at least!! Who knew? Not me, apparently. It's a rough surgery. I'm glad ur better.

I am so sorry. I had my gallbladder out years ago but I remember the pain like it was yesterday. If I ate any kind of protein, omg, the pain I was in! Someone told me that hyoscyamine would stop an attack and my mother just so happened to have that med. I called my doctor because I felt an attack coming on to see if I could take it and why. They said they had never heard of that but it was worth a try. I took it and it did indeed stop that attack. My surgery date was moved up and when my doctor took it out, it was fused to my liver so he had to pry it off that first and there were 2 huge stones and not 1 like they thought. He talked to me afterward and said you must have been a very sick girl. I said, that's what I was trying to tell every doctor I saw. So glad you got that out. That pain is awful. 🥂 here's to a swift recovery.

I was 22 when mine went south. I had 22 gall stones, 4 which were huge, one for every year of my life. I had never been over weight nor had any of issues that cause your gall bladder to go. I was schedule for surgery in the morning when my pain became so excruciating I went to the ER. Ended up having emergency surgery that night because a stone had escaped and was blocking the tube to my liver. Then it was a nice big cut to remove it. I got an infection, was so freakin sick. I was in the hospital for 3 weeks. I’m glad your surgery is over. Take care.

I have gastroparesis and short gut, essentially I have intestinal failure, and gut pain is some tough pain. I’m on pain meds daily just to handle as much tube feed as I can to stave off transplant. I think it is awesome that you are sharing your story it’s everyone. Being in the hospital all the time since I was young I met a lot of CF patients, and they are some of the toughest people I know. My surgeries are all open now, which isn’t super fun. I have a Hickman instead of a port because my ports were getting messed up all the time. I’m glad that everything went well for you!

I spent so much time curled up on the bathroom floor tiles cause it was nice & cold & the only thing that would semi-make me feel better. Gall bladders ARE THE DEVIL!!! it’s been 19 years & I will NEVER forget that pain, or the relief of having it gone. & I totally agree when you said you’d rather deal with the healing pain over the pain of the gall bladder. REST UP & DO NOT push yourself too far, even weeks out of surgery you can get still hernias because the incisions makes your cavity walls weak. TRUST ME I KNOW! Go SLOW!! Take care, feel better. 🤗🤗♥️♥️

I can relate to that pain. Everytime I would go to the Dr they would say I had a UTI or. Bladder infection. Then one day I woke up in soo much pain that I was so sick to my stomach and my stomach was super sensitive to the touch. My daughter's granny took me to the ER and I was admitted that day and had surgery the next day. My gallbladder was so full that it became infected and they had to put a tube in my side to drain it. As well as give me antibiotics.

He took me to the hospital because I was in pain & they did a dye test if it was my gallbladder ...I use what you just said..."My soul left my body" I was scheduled for surgery. Mine is gone...Lord love you and I hope your pain level is controlled and they take that bad boy out. Sending prayer's & yeah pain killer's are crazy. I'm on em every day and a patch. Oh man hope you don't puke. Hope lap works. They diced & sliced me. I just had an ileostomy & they put me under vent & I have COPD. I had complications after, right lung collapsed & got a fever. Nice little scars beautiful, glad it's gone now on to recovery. I hope you rang for help??? It's gonna hurt like a bleep...all your organs gonna drop. Wow you are moving good man. Gas...the pump you up with is killer. Seriously, you are doing well. Dope! They put 2 massive IVs in me in the OR, Im a hard poke so one on top of my foot. Massive gage took up all the top of my foot.. You rest, get well and recover oh..keep all baseball bats away from your arse. 😁😂👍🏻 I am doing my Breathing test soon they heard I had an ileostomy and cancelled. I also dealt with mine for months and months and months. What was even worse was that I later found out the surgery I had a year prior should’ve included the gallbladder removal because it’s 99% of the time like destroys your gallbladder but for reasons I don’t understand why it wasn’t done so I suffered with mine for nearly a year.

Man this brought back memories. Not good ones either. My gallbladder made life miserable for 3 months with almost constant attacks before it was removed in emergency surgery. I was so out of it after surgery I also slept a lot bc it hurt so bad, but I remember my best friend came to visit and brought her baby with her. I was given a red popsicle and the baby was sitting on my bed so I was sharing it, I don’t remember anything after that except waking up hours later and seeing myself covered in red, I thought I was bleeding all over. Luckily my other friend who was like a brother had stayed when everyone left, just chillin watching tv while I slept, and he told me my high ass fell back asleep and melted the popsicle all over myself. It was a horrible experience and I wouldn’t wish gallbladder pain/stones on anyone. Everything hurts, it’s stabbing and twisting pain and nausea and you can’t get comfortable no matter the position. I also remember getting dilauted like you did, one er trip they gave me that and sent me home. I had a 5 month old baby and was too high to hold him. Thankfully I was living with my aunt while my husband was deployed so she could take care of him while I was sick, but it was awful. It made the pain go away but I ended up tripping balls and nauseous for 48 hours. I don’t know how much he gave me but I’d never had that reaction any other time. He loaded me up or something. Glad it’s over.

Had my gallbladder out 3 weeks ago. Was the worst pain I've ever felt and had been going on for years before they finally decided to do something. It had fused to my liver from all the times it had been inflamed etc and it was so full of stones that as they were taking out out it burst and filled my abdomen with the stones so the surgery took twice as long to get them all out . I feel so much better with it gone not just the pain being gone but I feel 1000 times better in every aspect of my being I didn't realise how bad I had actually been feeling for so long. I was at work, cleaning a pool and felt like shit warmed over, heartburn for a while (I have a cast iron stomach, so I didn't think much of it), someone said that I looked like shit and I thought I was having the big one, so i went to the ER, they took me right in, did the EKG (which was great), and sent me for some test in radiology and when I was done, the doctor said, your gall bladder is shot so out it came. I had lap surgery, but they made 8 incisions compared with the "newer technique" going through the belly button. After when i went to the beach in Hawaii (where I was living at the time) people thought I was in a knife fight. My worst pain was the day after when I was home and taking a nap and I guess I rolled over on my wrong side and SCREAMED. My room mate was freaking out and my dog was standing on the bed growling all her hair on end and all I could say was "OWWWWW". So I got up took 2 oxy's and sat on the couch and my lips promptly swelled up and I looked like Mick Jagger's older brother. So I found out I am allergic to Oxy and had everyone and their brother trying to buy them, but I took them back to the pharmacy and made them take them back. I didn't want that shit out on the streets. Extra strength Tylenol did it for me after that. So, you WILL feel better in a few days.

I feel your pain. I had no pain until one evening. I put up with it from 6pm until 8am the following morning. I was in hospital by 9am. I had turned a grey yellow colour and couldn't walk. I was in hospital for a week after the gall bladder was removed. It had doubled in size, disintegrated, stuck to my pancreas and infected my liver. The surgeon said some fat had surrounded the gall bladder stopping bile from leaking and causing sepsis which may have killed me. Thank goodness I never had to suffer weeks or months of pain like most other gall bladder sufferers do. Also, rest up. You think you're fine after a short while but your body will let you know. And, like yourself I don't like pain killers. When it got bad, I took 1 paracetamol and 1 ibuprofen. Good luck.

I’m so sorry that you’re going through this pain a few months ago I met my ex husband at the hospital for an enlarged gallbladder, the doctor said the pain is close to that of a mother in labor! So welcome to labor pains haha. Yeah the doctor said kidney stones and gallbladder pain is what men can compare to labor pain. I guess I could say woman up! 😉
@trina4205
@trina4205 4 жыл бұрын
Amanda Charlebois it was a male doctor, like I wrote the doctor said the pain was comparable to that of a woman in labor ie. labor pains, like contractions... He said a man that has Pancreatic pain or kidney stone pain can compare the pain to the pain a woman feels from her contractions when she is in labor. Sorry if that wasn’t clear. I gave birth to two children naturally and it sounds like you had a horrible experience afterwards, I am sorry for that. I didn’t experience any of that unpleasantness after childbirth, it honestly breaks my heart that you did.

My Dr said that also. He didn't say it was as bad as childbirth, but as the labor pains. I'm female but can't compare because I never had kids. All I know is that the gallbladder is very painful when it goes bad.

I’m a female who’s had a baby and gallbladder attacks for months before emergency surgery to get it out. My gallbladder was worse then my labor pains, I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Morphine barely helped.

Be sure you get all details on this surgery. I began having some problems years later. Seems a popular thyroid medication causes liver problems in people with no gall bladder. Just recently discovered that this lumps above my ribs is a cyst that forms when part of the gallbladder is not removed. I had really crappy medical plan thru work. Read up, it is not as simple a as many people think,including me.

I just got mine taken out early Saturday morning and I didn't feel a damn thing. I just listened to my doctor and SPED to the ER. He was already waiting for me there so it went by fast. Of course I didn't eat fries or anything before I was seen! I'm surprised he even did it for you, you're not supposed to eat or drink anything at all before the procedure! And YES it is painful even after a few days taken out, but you feel so much better. I quit fast food, drinking and next is smoking! I only had 2 smokes today and hated the taste of it! Good job though buddy. You made the right choice before it exploded inside of your body!

I definitely understand your pain. My gallbladder was removed when I was 14 years old. I suffered with intense pain for two years because the doctors did not test for gallbladder disease in a child. When they finally did the test after everything else, the doctor said “I’ll be damned, this kid’s gallbladder is full of stones.” I had 48 gallstones and was happy to have that thing removed.

Gall bladder pain is awful. I developed gallstones during one of my pregnancies and was so stubborn that I refused surgery for about 6 years. 🤦‍♀️ Took a while to sort out my diet without a gall bladder but I feel great now! Hope recovery goes well for you.

Almost fifty years ago I kept having gall bladder attacks. For months my gall bladder couldn’t be removed. Finally........it was. The emergency room doctor asked me, after verifying that it was indeed a gall bladder attack I was having, why it wasn’t removed long ago. I told him it couldn’t be........because I was pregnant. I had just given birth to my son two weeks before. When I woke up in my hospital bed the following morning.......the morning the surgery would be done.......my sheets & hospital gown were soaked with milk!!! (My parents were looking after my new baby boy......& my in-laws we’re looking after my two-year-old daughter).

Oof. A couple of years I was in that pain, complicated by pancreatitis. Morphine doesn't seem to work on me, so dilaudid was my friend. Unfortunately narcotics make me vomit, so I was on anti-emetics, too. I didn't get better after surgery, turns out a gallstone was lodged in my common bile duct. After that was discovered and removed I recovered quickly but a normally outpatient surgery took me nine days in the hospital. Those first couple of days on IV antibiotics waiting for surgery were a nightmare. I have been much better since then, hope you are, too.

I heard you say you worked in Amazon there’s something you should be aware of especially if you have bad lungs we called it black dust I worked in the office of a warehouse and would have to go in the warehouse all the time. What black dust is is it actually is like a mold and dust and dirt particles that accumulate on the pallets transported around I actually got pneumonia from it when we try to do inventory. In fact, everybody in our office got sick from exposure to it. The guys in the warehouse told us enough to breathe deeply because when you do it your body can deal with it a little bit better, but it was bad it was we extremely ill. In fact, I was so ill I had to leave after about six hours of being in there Odds are your place is crawling with it especially just because it’s in the truck. It’s there’s no way to get rid of it. If you have air-conditioning I would highly recommend wearing a mask because it’s nasty crap it can kill you. It’s no joke and my understanding is there is a warehouse around that doesn’t have it.
