These are neat little pistols. I have one in 9mm. Its not my go to defense gun but still fun trying to hit anything with it. I keep mine loaded with cci snake shot when im out in the garden or fishing off the bank. Just a couple days ago I was flathead fishing when I got up to walk to a tree to do my business when I looked down and seen a huge cottonmouth. He was displaying like he owned the situation. I pulled out my darenger and put 2 shots down Its throat. The 2nd shot dang near took its head off.

Really appreciate this video showing a great cross section of the Bond Arms family plus the Henry .410. Just picked up a Roughneck in .45 ACP and want a .45 Colt and .410 version, however makes me want to think about one of the bigger ones with an extractor. Nice illustration of different ammo options. Thanks, sir.

YT's Al Gore Rhythm just recommended this video, and I just now watched it. And liked it. And did "Like" it. I've had my Bond Arms Grizzly for about 2.5 years now. I had a chance to try the Roughneck (or was it the Rowdy?) and the Grizzly side-by-side, and went with the Griz. The extended grips sold me on it. And the holster was a plus (and I typically do use it in cross-draw configuration). I bought it to be my snake gun, but when I'm not tramping through the woods on family property or on hiking trails I swap out the snake shot for either those Hornady Triple Defense rounds you used or else some .45 Colt hollow points. Back in the city, my EDC is a micro9 pistol I pocket carry. When I'm seated and seat-belted into my truck, that pocket pistol is devilish hard to get to. So, my Bond Arms Grizzly rides in the storage cubby on the door in my truck, giving me more immediate access to a gun in a carjacking situation. Oh, and I also bought a second Bond Arms 3" barrel chambered in 9mm, so I also have the option to use the same 9mm carry ammo as I do in my EDC. Bond Arms derringers. For my money, it's way more than just a novelty or range gun. It's a practical and versatile piece that has several important applications.

This is a well made video. You saved the chit-chat for the end and started the video with shooting. 17 minutes and not one ad. Most gun videos today last about 5 minutes and start with two or more ads with another ad in the middle of the video. Thank you for not doing that. I have a policy, if your video has ads I will stop watching it when the ads start. I will not subscribe to a channel that wastes my time with ads. Again, thank you for a well made video.

Wait a minute: you're able to use Fiocchi? I've tried using foreign 45 LC with my derringer and half the time the bullet doesn't go off. Is my gun bad or is that normal?

I was really surprised at the accurate shot of the 45/410. Bonds arms 3in. Rowdy. With the 45 colts it's a real accurate gun. Once you learn how to hold it and all.

A 9 mm speed strip works well to carry some extra rounds and facilitate reloading.
@mrmann44 Жыл бұрын
Use a speed strip! Especially on that 45 Colt, load two at once an just break it off real fast.

These weapons are strictly for carrying when your clothing does not allow you to carry a larger gun. For regular concealed carry it is inadequate.
@tonyrome6553 жыл бұрын
The Ruger LCR is a much better choice. Almost the same size and weight, 3 more rounds and faster reload with a speed loader.

I paid 500 bucks for a 357 defender for my girl friend, Its useless for any kind of panic situation, it extremely hard to cock and the trigger is ridiculous. I called bond arms and asked if there was any modification could be made to fix the problem. The lady told me to take it to a gun smith to have it fixed but if i did that the warranty would be voided. I give credit for being solid made but not practical for a back up. Its to hard to handle under pressure. you would get shot 5 time by the time you get it cocked and fumbling with the trigger. That being said I told my girl friend to throw at the would be demomrat criminal, its good and solid and should make a sizable head hickie .

The most lethal round you can fire out of that is a Federal handgun birdshot shell, with the shot emptied out and replaced with two .38 caliber 148 grain full-wadcutters. It's basically like firing two .357 rounds at once. Watch out though, It's roughly .44 magnum pressure, so it hurts. Keep the trigger guard on, or the locating tabs can rip flesh off your trigger finger. Trust me...

Got one in 357....my wife wanted...trigger is horrible..doesn’t get rid of spent shells tooo good...it is hefty ....cute little gun ...they have nice things for it...like grips and leather....I agree about brass...don’t pitch it......

What he didn't explain is that your able to buy barrels of different lengths and calibers.I own a polished version with barrels in .22 , .357 /38 special and 45 Colt/410. barrels change out quick and easy with one set screw....PS, fully customizable too, I have Stag grips on mine and all my barrels I had hand engraved.....sharp! :)

12 seconds to reload and fire second wave! Alternatively, that's time enough for me to run a 100-yard dash in a safe direction!
@rodneysimms60804 жыл бұрын
TruthWellTold oh it takes me a lot less than 12 seconds to reload mine. But still and all I see it as a last ditch backup as in it’s two shots quickly if my primary is out of service. It’s also a nice snake/varmit lawn cutting gun. Dump both barrels at 3 yards or less and whatever was bothering you will stop.
@honorb4glory6063 жыл бұрын
You can reload them in about 5 seconds.

Bond arms really needs to make a small revolver
@toddstamos893 жыл бұрын
I like Bond Arms derringers. They are cool little novelties. However, a single action gun with a capacity of two is not a good backup gun when there dozens of better options. Btw, at about 3:00 why would you load a single action derringer with the hammer cocked? Seems pretty dangerous, with no practical reason for it, to me.

Man, please! Thhere is no such thing as a .45 long Colt because there is no such thing as a .45 short Colt. It is simply the .45 Colt.
@ranceedwards15614 жыл бұрын
Technically the 45 cap is the 45 short. Acp stands for automatic colt pistol. So to differentiate the rounds people call the revolver cartridge long colt which may have even started because the army in the late 1800s would sometimes get 45 Smith and Wesson rounds in shipments instead of the colt cartridges which wasn't a problem for the folks with 1873 saa revolvers but was for people with s&ws when the army happened to only get the colt cartridges because they were to long for the s&w cylinders.
@charlesphillips59064 жыл бұрын
b reloader The .45 Schofield cartridge was shorter than the .45 Colt. It could be used in both the Schofield and the Colt 45 Peacemaker, but the .45 Colt was too long to use in the Schofield. As a result, by the 1880s the army finally standardized on a .45 cartridge designed to fire in both revolvers, the M1887 Military Ball Cartridge. The M1887 was made at Frankford Arsenal, and was issued only to the military. It had the shorter case of the Schofield and the reduced rim of the Colt round; as it was short enough to fit the Schofield, and its rim was not needed for the rod-ejector Single Action Army, the M1887 would fire and eject from both revolvers.”

unsafe handling when cocking the piece after shooting and before reloading. who wears one glove carrying a ccw, how can you get a true feel of handling & shooting it? my rowdy was a sloppy unfinished piece of junk compared to my regular gen2, it truly burns bond arms’ carefully built reputation, ime. buy a used gen2 for best value.
