Hav is the illest. I feel like dude gets over looked a lot in top 10s of greatest hip hop producers lists. Hes made some of the most iconic hip hop beats of all time and deserves due respect.

I grew up havoc in the bridge. His dad was a Dj and had an amazing record collection. His dad and Marley were the reason I started production and engineering. Marley's protégé Dj clash were always at havoc's crib, he was around 10 years old at the time. Peace to all my homies from QueensBridge.

im a HUGE mobb deep fan, but i feel like he just giving drums away cuz he does know how epic and classic they are, and knows he can make money off of it. idk, i dont think he should do it. 60 or 70 bucks a pop just to have these drums when you can just go diggin for them yourself. thats the fun in it all. you need your own style, dont jack Havs.

drums is one thing .. but its corny to use someone elses samples.. the point of sampling is finding something and flipping it into something new. wheres the originality in using samples that someone else already found, chopped, and used on their own records.. it'd be cool to have some of havocs drums though
@AJWise
@AJWise 10 жыл бұрын
There are many samples that have been used and abused over and over again by many industry producer's, Lenny Williams, Bob James, James Brown, I can go all day. El Debarge. Samples get recycled all the time so that argument is bogus. True producers like Pete Rock use obscure samples that nobody has heard of to avoid sample clearance and also to be exclusive, but like I said, there are plenty of samples that have been raped by everybody.
@mpchead621
@mpchead621 10 жыл бұрын
Yeah it happens all the time, I still think it's unoriginal to do at this point, especially if you're downloading the samples in packs instead of sampling the actual song and chopping it up yourself. but to each his own, i'd rather look for samples that i think have never been found, and flip them my own way
