I work construction we see these guys everyday that missed the road closed sign and we all get a great laugh out of it especially when they have to back up 2 miles just to get out of the situation because most can't back up a 100 feet

English is required for trucking by federal law. It's in the fmcsa green book. Drivers must be able to speak, read, and write in English.

As a former stagecoach driver That INFURIATES me. There could be 50 lives in there and the maroon behind the wheel is putt them and all those around him at risk. I was on a bus last year where the driver engaged in road rage. Not only did I point that out to him, I called his employer. Beyond the road rage his also used his cellphone while driving, tailgated insanely close, turned into a 'no outlet street' and finally at our destination couldn't get the bus into the drive. "Swing wide, it's a BUS" also plays! I wouldn't trust that guy with my windshield pigeon!!

I deliver to a Hyvee DC often in Chariton IA, they are well above the rest when it comes to unloading. They even have a clean break room for truckers...oh and a shower.

I’ve worked out of a warehouse of a major grocery chain in the southeast for 20+ years. The lumpers wouldn’t tell the drivers how much they would charge until after the load was done- I saw some justifiably angry drivers. It saves the grocer money but it screws the drivers- it really is a scam.

Way back in the day, while hauling loads over 14’ tall, I would drift up to “Eisenhower” tunnel in Colorado? I can’t remember the name for sure, anyway, I had an above ground fuel tank, measuring 14’6”… Obviously I tripped their sensors, so I pulled into the inspection parking lot, and a maintenance guy came over with a measuring stick. Before he got there, I dumped the air in both tractor and trailer. He was confused, saying you are only 13’11”, and he was wondering out loud about why the sensors set off the alarm. I didn’t tell him what I did between their “height” sensor and his arrival. In the end he told me to run in the left lane, so as not to take a chance…. Got to the other side of the tunnel and aired up my bags again. Ingenuity at its best!

I laugh every time my company recoups the money it paid Capstone or other lumper companies when it charges the receiver for detention because it took the lumpers 8 hours to unload the trailer. I bet if these receivers actually employed the dock workers themselves and paid them well enough to work fast, they'd actually spend less money because they wouldn't be paying out all these massive detention charges.

Lumpers are a scam. I’ve had a lumper charge $300 and the company paid it. Next time around I ask my boss how much to unload the trailer and he said $50. I said get a lumper

Costco can do it too .I had them in FL, escorted me to the dock in a golf cart ground, and guided me in the dock . The dock door was open, and people waiting to unload my trailer . I was having military 🪖 flashbacks 😅

Back in So Cal, my buddy used to work with the unloading crew at Stater Brothers warehouse. He was informed that the place does not want truckers influencing their worker with drugs among other stuff.

Okay so I haul scrap steel. I have made 9 runs to the steel mill this week. Every time I have scaled out, I was behind a loaded flatbed. All but one had beams and 5 out of the 8 that had them, was either loaded wrong, tied down wrong or both. It's crazy!! I see these guys that can barely make it across the scale, running flatbed.

Well I pull a step deck and some places are now making drivers unload their freight, especially RDO, I mentioned something to a company I haul for and they said oh no the driver is not to unload equipment especially new stuff

Trainer and trainee could have seen that flatbed coming from far right a long way. But eh.. its a good little save and a nice vid for future teaching. I enjoyed the Flipflop fruiter being told to go back for something better on the feet. All I can think is that i wore square toe steel harness boots in all of my trucking time and I would not dream of doing flip flops.

Yes , lumper fees are ridiculous. Kroger in Las Vegas, it took them over 3 hours to unload 6 palettes, from the very back of the trailer, and they charged $159 for it 🤦🏻‍♂️
