Best move for Hawaiian Airlines to make, honestly. It was a matter of time, not if HA was going to die. Their corporate cultures match each other's; Alaska=Inuit and Hawaiian=Kanaka on the planes' livery, as well as being states that have to compete with major "mainland" firms like United, Delta, etc. The recent Maui fires and the calling of locals to kill tourism did not help matters, so I don't any of us can fault Peter Ingram and the board for making the best decision they could for the shareholders (ahem, many of whom are alumni of Kam Schools and St. Louis).

Alaska and hawaiian have the same shareholders. Black Rock and Vanguard own the majority of shares. All major airlines are owned by the same shareholders it's a racket what a joke.
