I've been watching you and Grant for at least a year and a half.....thru all your "adventures and work"..and I still can't get over the Love that comes out of both of you two. To bad it was cloudy on the hill, it's a spectacular view of the valley. If you continue on that road, it takes you to Poli Poli state park. It's a nice walk through mostly forested hillside. Thanks for sharing!

Went to Maui with 7 other guys when we graduated from high school in 1975. We rode bikes from the old airport to Lahaina. Lahaina was just a sleepy beach village back then. We stayed a few days in the mountains above Lahaina, kinda looks like where you guys are riding. Went to a Hawaiian rodeo. So much fun and beautiful. Good to see that it hasn't changed much.

We stayed at the Maui Westin when it was brand new in 1987 it was beautiful. Filled with art pieces from around the World.

I have an '18 KLR. Great cheap do everything bike. Of course...I had to put on a SW Motech centerstand, Givi crash bars, and the piece de resistance ..a LeoVince pipe (94 DB and no longer sounds like a generator) 😁 I'm six four and still can barely flat foot Must have seemed like Everest to Laura stay safe, kids from OKC 😎

@@MrFozzie52 *No such thing as long as it is fried! I initially only had cold out of the can Spam (“spiced ham”) with the gelatin on top and avoided it for ages until I found that cooked Spam is actually quite good.*

5:14 those were Blue Gum trees, perfect poles in under five years... common in agroforestry, livestock shelter and erosion control. Possibly snow tolerant. Highly flammable!

Neat way to explore is with a motorcycle for sure. I bet a drone that follows you could have benefited you in getting the shots without having to back track to get the camera. Thanks for taking us along.

Best thing about renting a bike if you brake down. Just call the rental company. No tools needed,lol !

"It's a KLR you can never break these things!" "We lost the rear brake!" Sound like a klr experience allright. Good thing you can lock the wheel engine braking.

Anytime you drive in the mountains, you should use your brakes sparingly. Instead, downshift into a lower gear when going down the mountain.

@@digiclectic807 Lower gears use more fuel and you can't reach the optimal speed for apex cornering. Slam the rear and slide to establish dominance ok? meet me on the toge and see what happens. Praise Jupiter.

@@Pilledskin maybe it's different on a motorcycle, but I use lower gears when I drive a car descending down a mountain. Brake rotors don't heat up nearly as much, because I'm not using the brakes as much, and I can corner better on a winding road in a lower gear because my speed is lower. I have paddles on the steering wheel which makes it so much easier to change gears.

Me and my wife had fun there too. We rented a motorcyle, did some parasailing, snorkeling, went to a pineapple plantation. It was fun. Did they tell you that the sand had to be hauled in from the mainland?

Oh Look! There is a place where gasoline prices are even _higher_ than in California! (Maybe it is the same: I haven't been in California for a few years.) There are magnificent lavender farms in Oregon! Maybe with not quite as long a season as Hawaii, but very memorable nevertheless.
