Thanks for your comment. In response to your question, the country of origin does not have anything to do with my preference. In fact, I was expecting a completely different result. I fully expected and wanted the Hawke to be a hidden gem. Hawke has many different reticles and yours appears to be a quite nice design. The LR Dot is not a good design, at least not for precision shooting. When a gun/ammo combo can shoot sub MOA and your rifle scopes reticle is larger than 1 MOA, that leaves something to be desired. Yep, I should have done my homework on that reticle, shame on me. I bought into the marketing. Aside from that, the quality overall is undeniably not on par with my Leupold. It’s not the worst quality by any means, but it is not of the same build quality. I can’t remember if I mentioned this was the warranty replacement to the first Hawke scope I purchased. The first one had an item come apart inside the scope, after not many rounds. There was a black item that would block the view of the scope that moved each time I shot the gun. Hawkes replacement service was awesome and I had no issues with that. I personally have not had to use the warranty on my Leupold. The name plate on the new scope didn’t stay adhered with only a few rounds through it. Does this really matter? I’d say yes. Pride taken in the little things shows the level of care in the overall product. New Hawke scopes now have a printed logo, vs the sticker, so they have corrected this. The rubber deforms and is not bonded to the scope. You can feel it deform and slip, even if ever so slightly. I don’t see how the headquarters of a company’s country of origin has anything to do with these items. My experience with both scopes, side by side, and in actual use has molded my opinion. And I admit freely, this is fully my own opinion based on my life experiences. Just take it for what it’s worth. I have no issue with your preference. I’d be interested to see your side by side comparison to see where the quality, fit, finish, and durability of your scopes come in. As we all come together in this forum, we can learn from each other’s experiences and hopefully be better informed. I definitely do not know everything and My incompetence is out there for the world to see. I am hoping to get conversations started and get more knowledge and understanding moving forward as a group sharing similar interests. What is it that you like on the Hawke scope better that your Leupold? How does the quality of build compare? How do the reticles compare. What type of guns are they attached to? What scope rings do you use? I didn’t mention that I tried the Hawke rings on my first rifle and first Hawke Scope, but they didn’t work very well. That’s why I went to the Dual Dovetail rings. My scope kept slipping and changing Zero. I am planning on testing the BDC portion of my scope reticle to see how well it matches the ballistics of my rifle. I have not tested that as of yet though. I am comforted to hear that yours works very well. I look forward to learning more from your experiences.

Yep, it really shows as you get further out. But, it’s what I got and it works for now.

Yes sir. 1 1/4” MOA on a rifle scope-not a good choice. I should have paid more attention.
