Yeah, you don’t get to see really good fight scenes like this. Like that move he used to defeat her was so cool and I wouldn’t have thought of it. He used his sword to hook onto her leg and throw her lol.

It wouldn't make sense for his character. Sure, he killed a lot of bad people, but he wasn't doing it to help anyone. He doing it because of very selfish reasons.

It would first of all make Echo scared of him (like planned) and second of all be a badass last scene of Ronin. Besides, what's the point of making her look strong in a fight against Ronin if everyone knows that he's holding back? And what was the point of the scene after? Where Kate had to save Clint...

@@nicolasp8pl I think point was clear - that if she gets even slightly closer to his family or him again, he won't hold back. The fact that he beat her while holding back sent a clear message. Did you forget that Echo never goes after Clint again? Even though he still was the one who killed her father, even if he was manipulated? Yet, in the final episode, he was right next to her, and she doesn't engage with him. Almost like she learned her lesson and realized that there's no way she can take him out.

Because they made him weak, so that people would watch her show. She didn't attack him because she was scared of Kate which could have killed her twice before.

How is he badass here? He's struggling against a girl who trained in regular dojos against regular people in her spare time. She's slightly better than the other tracksuits, how is she able to cut him in the arm and steal his sword after 5s?

@@Justatoadyall yeah because how is this scene badass? They should have given him a better opponent that he would actually want to fight against. I don't like that after a decade of waiting for his project his main fight is against a weak opponent and he struggles against her and I don't like how he was treated in this show. What's the choreography worth if the writers didn't introduce her as as a strong opponent? Getting cut in the arm and then getting saved by Kate was totally unnecessary for this sequence and it definitely didn't make him look badass. Besides, they knew that it is his last Ronin fight scene so they should have kept his image of a unstoppable opponent.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. Look, I'm the guy who rolls his eyes at losers online complaining about "forced diversity". Oh, I'm so sorry I'm tired of watching Lantern-jawed white guys punch each other. Maybe I'm ready for some more diverse stories. And I actually liked the low-stakes kid-friendly vibe of Ms. Marvel. But the Native American Heritage shit in Echo felt sooo tacked on it felt almost exploitative. Like, I know Disney will have done their research and there were good actors and good fight choreography throughout. But it still felt completely disconnected from everything we knew about Maya. Almost like they tried to mix her story with a completely different hero or something. Worse it led to really bad pacing. Things happened weirdly just so other scenes could happen. Haven't watched the Echo show, but in the Hawkeye show she beat a bigger kid when she was six, because he did the same move on every other kid and besides that she beat some guy at a boxing sparring.

@@familymatthews8419 he literally lost his sword after five seconds, got stabbed in the arm and needed Kate to save his life. Even if we forget about this fight, Clint still misses a couple of times and isn't nearly as good as GA in hand to hand combat.

Afraid of the aftermath of women getting hurt too much. Most of them, Its not them getting hit, its the fallout. Women are so protected their fictional likeness is coddled to death, its pathetic. It holds back what could be better sequences. John Wick 2, Ip Man 4, Ichi 2008 or even The Villainess is what you get when the directors dont give a fuck. You get good fights.

@@lessermook7608 As a woman, honestly I am all for it. Give us good fights with women, even if its to the death or if the fight leaves a woman crippled. And I also mean good proper fights, not the type of choreography where a woman punches a man and he goes flying back unless she has powers or something. I get that men are physically stronger in 8/10 cases but that doesn't mean women can't outsmart them or fight more creatively rather with just brute force.

Nah her acting is phenomenal because she’s literally being herself in real life but in this situation due to the fact that she’s and her characters deaf and she uses sign language in the show and real life and she doesn’t talk really in the show and maybe real life so she’s technically being herself which means her acting is 100% lmao cause she doesn’t really need to do anything to sell it

For someone with zero acting experience prior, I think she did well.
