To check the temp of your hay, you need to leave the probe in for a minute or 2. Takes a bit for the probe to absorb the bale temp. Also, putting the probe in against the grain of the bale will give a more accurate reading. Tighter the hay is against your probe, the more accurate the reading will be. Thanks for the videos.

How does the hand held in comparison with baler mount one. Do they read about the same on bales.
@jack16596 жыл бұрын
Monty Bussard I was wondering the same thing.
@PAFarms6 жыл бұрын
Monty Bussard I did test it and it’s anywhere between 2-4 percent difference. With the sensor in the bale chamber, it’s reading the outside of the bale as it goes past so it varies when testing the inside of the bale.

I was wandering about the difference between the inside and outside of the bale. 2-4 percent difference is not bad. I think I'm going to get the baler mounted one in the spring for my round baler. Thanks for sharing your video with us on KZfaq.

Guess I'm old school I just check them by touch and weight.

Josh Timer yea I guess for small bales it could be unnecessary. I see a lot of guys using them for big bales.

Also I am aware that you are looking at combines I think you should look at John deeres we have a 9400 and it's awesome I bet you could find a decent 6620 at a good price but just a thought thanks for your time allis
@PAFarms6 жыл бұрын
allislover12 I did look at a 6620. I probably will stay away from Deere just because we don’t have jd dealers close by. Also I have more experience both operating and working on IH and MF. Thanks for watching

Interesting gadget. I'd be curious as to how close to the correct moisture we've been baling our hay at. lol

Mac Farms I guess that’s why I bought it. I didn’t want to guess what it was.
