Thanks Harri!! Hayes is such a great song writer and has an attitude that is pure Texas folk like Ray Wylie Hubbard, Steve Earle, Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt and all of those old school hardcore singer song writer guys. Ray Wylie Hubbard said about Hayes, it was nice seeing someone as young as Hayes who already looked burnt out and fried.

As a Texan I can say this music is broadly considered "Americana" music, but similar artists fall under the categories of Dirt Road, Outlaw Country and Alt Country. Thank goodness we have many radio stations that play this kind of music and the state is loaded with venues for live music where our hundreds of talented musicians have a place to perform.

Thanks Dave. Hayes is such a great song writer. His song "The Sake Of The Song" is one of my favorite tracks. It blows me away.

@davebzen795 yeah. I bought the album on vinyl for that track. Turns out the whole album killer. All of these Texas guys are great. Did you check out Steve Earle's album "Townes" where he covered his songs? Holy God, that is a great album.

Hayes and Ray Wylie wrote this track together. Ray's is a bit different lyrically and is slower.
