A native of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, Hazael Wessin Herrera is Major League Baseball’s first full-time, Dominican-born strength and conditioning coach. Wessin sits down with Jennifer Mercedes, La Vida Baseball's Host and Producer to discuss his journey and the lessons he learned along the way. Wessin received his bachelor’s degree in sports management from Faulkner University in 2014. He also received his associate of arts degree in liberal arts from Western Oklahoma State College in 2012, where he played catcher on the baseball team. In 2011, his Western Oklahoma State squad captured the NJCAA National Championship.
