I've heard once somewhere that a natural golf shot will take 3-5 practice swings to start to feel normal. if it doesn't, it's not natural. odds are, the coach knows what's natural for this guy. awesome coach!

I agree with the praise DG is getting - I am much more confident around the greens now and believe I can get nearer the pin so giving myself more chances to get up and down. I just need to develop the variety of shots he teaches now. Keep up the good work Mr Grieve!

Damn, I just cane across Dan Grieves a few days ago. Thanks to meeting s local golfer talk about him. Saw this player get over the bunker effortlessly and close to the pin. He talked about Dan Grives Book and KZfaq channel. Now I gotta go buy the book. Im now seeing why everyone talks about you Mr Grieves. Ill be subscribing and buying your book. I have use the Toe chipping alot. But I Didn't know you use use the Toe Shot like that over a bunker lol

This is also EXCELLENT for "NO Sand hard packed Bunkers. Try your 58° or 60° Wedge. I can fly over a chest to head high face from a Bunker.

Unless your handicap is 16 maximum ! Ditch the various wedges 54,56,58,60 with various bounces ! Better off with a decent iron set with pw aw and sw, more sole on club ! One money shot with a 60 degree lob wedge isn’t averaged out with a thin through the green and taking 4 to get down from 35 yards

Does hitting out-to-in like that not create rightward spin once the ball lands? I feel like my ball spins to the right once it lands on the green with this technique. Is there something I’m missing?

I am a pretty good golfer who has read and watched a lot of instruction in my 62 years......this is by far the best. My shoet game has always been really good.....following his instruction it is now excellent.....he has given me many more shots.

@dangrievegolf when you say "toe down", i see that you've opened up the club quite a bit. do you mean that the toe of the club is lower than the heel because you are standing closer to the ball?

It's the height that's important. He just needs to adjust his speed to get it stone dead. The first shot stumbled through about 6 feet of rough and, by chance, ended up about 10 feet away. I think the first shot is actually further away if you rewatch it.

if he was on a grassy lie he could just ignore the bunker and chip it half way and run it out. But with that bare lie, that toe down high handle shot works like magic

It's not about the result of one shot though. Goal was to add a new shot shape to his game. Now he has more options.
