Though it takes video from other sites, this is an EXCELLENT overview of Ancient Egypt. Its approach is different than most & the "experts" they use -- both in English & German -- are some of the VERY BEST still operating in Egyptian archeology & anthropology. Very well done! Thanks.

What made Egypt such a great civilization was that it was the first of its kind. It became a model for the southern and eastern Mediterranean area, and its influence gradually reached the northern shores. Nobody built big like the ancient Egyptians. People who don't acknowledge Egypt's influence on succeeding cultures are in de Nile. 😊

I really appreciate the description of migration east, along with the co-incidence of the Nile flooding every season. What I am missing so far is how does a predominantly agricultural civilisation while deifying each region managed to build the most unbelievably advanced architectural wonders the world has ever seen? I am near the 300BC part and still no mention of the Giza plateau? I was really enjoying this video until I wondered when are they going to address this mystery? Its not a mystery it is a miracle! I hope this video will start to explain the great pyramid, the serapeum of saqqara, bent pyramid, the sphinx, and the totally insane architectural remnants of this great dynasty. So far its just the bread basket of Egypt. Wish me luck. I will now continue watching.

Can I respectfully point out that while the narrator is repeatedly explaining how advanced Egyptian technology was used here, here and here, we're shown the modern day Egyptian farmer, whose level of technology is a donkey? All a bit confusing if you ask me.

The Ancient Egyptian Dynastic culture was a (Black) African culture and it originated from a series of neolithic/predynastic cultures in Upper(southern) Egypt i.e Tasian, Badarian, Naqada etc- these upper Egyptian cultures themselves been part of the larger Nilotic-Sahara culture that streched from around Khartoum to Middle Egypt. These Upper Egyptian cultures originated from the sahara and areas to the south as people move out from a desiccating Sahara. Every thing said above is the current mainstream view of scholars on ancient Egyptian origin and culture and it is demostrable. Who the ancient Egyptian were is a different matter that does not have consensus at the moment

By the way, this mainstream consensus(which is easily demonstrable) is what is shown in this documentary at 8:40 min i.e origin of early ancient Egyptian cultures from the Sahara and areas to the south

Somewhat "tongue in cheek," but why did the ancient Egyptians wear such silly headwear? I've lived in the desert (and Egypt specifically), wearing a hat without a brim it is nearly impossible to see anything long distance when the sun is overhead.
