I guess he always had those instincts seeing as he had to care for his sister. It's these kinds of characters traits and subtle shows of kindness and empathy that makes me love this show even more .💕

"I'm... the mess?" (Uncontrollable sobbing) This says a LOT about her psychological state. She on some level knows she's psychologically damaged, and keeps herself as busy as she can constantly just to keep from ever having to confront it. When Angel told her she was a mess, she was forced to confront consciously what she subconsciously tries to repress with her cleaning and mania. That she is a psychological mess she doesn't even know how to even START cleaning up... and doesn't want to be.

I do hope they explore this concept later on. While I have no doubt that Nifty killed at least one person when she was alive, it seems like Heaven doesn’t take mental illness into account when casting judgement on a Sinner (kinda like certain media outlets in real life).

@@Cure_Hana When you consider that good people routinely end up in Hell on technicalities, it is wholly possible that Niffty was actually a decent person who was made crazy BY ending up in Hell. Here's my guess: I personally think that her camera phobia has to do with her death: It was messy, it was horrible, it probably took a long time, and somebody was FILMING IT, so being filmed is a heavy trauma trigger and gives her trauma flashbacks. Husk even implies this, that Niffty's story is an awful story, so awful even HE doesn't want to think about or retell it, jaded as he is. So now imagine dying a long, drawn out, painful death at the hands of some sadist monster who was recording it... to finally get that relief by death of the pain you're in... and then wake up from that nightmare of suffering into a completely new one that is all the more worse because people like the one who killed you are EVERYWHERE and don't even need to hide, and dying isn't an escape, there is no escape, only more suffering of the same kind you thought death would be a release from around every corner... and you don't even know what you did wrong to deserve any of it. It'd drive ANYONE mad. I figure, when Angel called her a mess, it snapped her right back to her last moments by the word association. her killer may have even said the same exact words. And all the pain she's repressing at how unfair her existence and fate is just came flooding out as uncontrollable tears.
