Has there ever been a longer sax solo on a rock-song? There are enough song with sax on it. That solo is an amazing.end of that great song. I was 14 in 1980 & was hanging around the West End of London with older teenagers,watching bands & going to nightclubs - this film perfectly encaptures how volatile inner city nightlife & the music scene was back then - if you got on the wrong carriage on the underground or night bus you could find yourself in real trouble. Groups of right wing skinheads,punks,drunks,police,bouncers etc were risks you had to deal with if you wanted a night out. 🎶🎥👊👍

@pault1964 would you go back given the chance? By that I don't necessarily mean lose what you have now in terms of family, kids, pets, home, etc but go back to living in that style era and that lifestyle but take them with you.

Well. I have to disagree with you three about the saxophone solo. U don't have to have "'Hair on Fire"' blasts from the instrument to make the song extraordinary. The extended solo by Magoogan was moody, achingly beautiful and achieved the sound he was striving for I believe. Listen to it again without the disjointed, chaotic movie scenes to distract you. You'll find that it's absolutely sublime.

After 40 years of listening to this song I still got goosebumps listening to the sax solo at the end of this song.As you rightly say it teases you throughout the song and I'm sure with continued listening it will only get better.A song which will sound different to you dependant on what mood you are in.The video with it can be a little distracting but great reaction guys as always,it may not have been a home run but each of your individual reactions to the sax playing showed it touched you all.keep up the good work and hope you hit 25k soon.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

This is one of my favourite songs ever. I was about 15 when it came out. I bought it on vinyl in 1980 and I still have it. Watch the movie, its very unique.

As a young guy in the 80s I was stood 6 ft away from Claire Hurst who played this at bridge Street arts centre in Newcastle under lyme the hairs on the back of my neck stood up I couldn't believe what I heard and at the time didn't realise how good it was get well soon Hazel O'connor

WILL YOU is one of the tracks from the multi award winning soundtrack of the award-winning film BREAKING GLASS, Hazel O'Connor starred in the film and also performed and wrote the whole soundtrack, I've seen Hazel live on numerous occasions , both with her band the Subterranians, and on her own playing folk music. Hazel suffered a severe stroke last year at her home in France, according to her Facebook and website she is making slow but steady progress with her recovery,fans have been raising money to help with her recovery, and we all send our love ❤

This movie was huge here in the Uk and is amazing. I saw Hazel live in concert after her second album came out and she was great. The Breaking glass album features songs that span a widee spectrum of musical genres from blusey ballads to boarderline punk rock. The film follows a young girl trying to make it in the industry, she meets a young guy who becomes her mentor and manager because he really believes in her. But when hse starts become more famous the industry pushes him aside and tries to change her to be more commercial. There is another beautiful song like this one called If Only, about picking yourself up again when you have hit rock bottom.

Mervin, what movie did you see? It was not 'massive' in the UK ; it has become a bit of a cult classic - especially in Germany and the UK - but massive? No. It was universally derided and three chains pulled the movie from their listings.

I grew up on top of a mountain in a tiny, tiny town in West Virginia. It's considered the poorest state in the us, just north of these guys. I somehow caught this movie on tv and it completely changed my view of the world. I force everyone to watch it and I own all of Hazel's albums!

The film was about the rise of racism in the UK in the late 70s/ early 80. The National Front marched on the streets but punks opposed any kind of discrimination & marched against it. The men in the red braces were in the classic NF "uniform" of the time. I was a punk teen back then & got hassled by racists even though I'm white

This sax solo was hauntingly beautiful and melodious. This one by Magoogan goes a notch higher than the ones played by Phil Kenzie on Al Stewart’s Year of the Cat and Time Passages.

The movie is an allegory of how pop music, pop musicians and teen culture is controlled and contrived to create and change traditional culture. The late Dodi Fayed was involved in production. Hazel did a UK tour in the 2000s, only about 30 people were in the audience, so Hazel invited everyone to sit in the 2 front rows, she sat on the stage, and I got to sing all the songs from the album with her. Magical.

She is recovering from illness at the minute, she had not long since did a version of this song with a band called Ferocious Dog where the sax is replaced by an awesome violin solo

Breaking glass the Album was one of my favourites when I was a teen. The film is brilliant, but it covers mental health issues so it's a hard watch sometimes. Hazel's lyrics on this album though are spine chilling. I get goosebumps for every song. As for the Sax, I'm speechless every time.

You've got a keen discerning ear sir, maybe too many of the younger generation have been fed so much "compression" and in your face hooks that they miss the subtleties of smooth transitions and key changes etc but I believe if they listen to enough from the past, let down their guard and just let the music flow into their soul the penny will drop and an amazing voyage of discovery awaits.

Hazel wrote this song in 1975 the guy mentioned had very little to do with it and Hazel was ripped off by her record company so had very little money from this album or film. Funny the films about Kate( Hazel) getting fucked over by e record company up until beginning of this year 2022 Hazel was still recording and gigging until a fall gave her a bleed on the brain she seems to be recovering bit the process is so slow get well soon HAZEL

Breaking Glass is sort of a punk version of Bette Midler's movie The Rose. My favorite part of the movie is when she sings a song called "Black Man" to a group of nazis.

I thought that Ty was not going to like it at all, yet finally loved it more than the others. I thought that Ryan would be really loving it, but it didn't quite hit the spot. And I thought that Nick would discuss the lyrics. Nevertheless, I am glad you reacted to it and gave due credit to Wes Magoogan. I think it is possible that the images on screen actually detract from the song. I have had that impression from other reactors to this song. For me, I consider it absolutely outstanding!

I just subscribed listening to your more southern rock, country music vids, but how the actual eff did this come about. This was the most influential movie of my youth. I grew up on top of a mountain in WV so you can imagine how this movie opened my eyes to the larger world. And from this I discovered all types of music. I think I have every one of her albums.

Hazel was very ill last year she had blood on the brain and they induced a coma for 24hrs she is now recovering and doing well I think. She lives in france now.

This is a great song! I like Hazel, she's a cool artist. She has some really rocking songs too. The movie, Breaking Glass, is really good! The soundtrack is solid. Worth a watch and a listen to the entire film/soundtrack.

You’re going to like this, it’s highly unusual. For a future reaction, take a look at Dire Straits “Your latest trick”. Not one of their best known but one of their more interesting, lyrically. And I can absolutely guarantee that Ryan will like it.

Eighth day is a lot more upbeat but the whole album and film are amazing! A scathing view of the music industry and and stresses of being an emerging star. Especially in the punk era.

I saw the movie at the drive-in. It wasn't the main movie but I liked it much more than whatever the main movie was. Years later I saw the movie The Body Guard and I can tell you personally I think they ripped the idea for that movie from Breaking Glass.

Iwas wondering why U were reviewing such an obscure song until I checked it out. Oh my Gosh, Dimash , Osh Kosh By Gosh! Is that not the BEST sax solo ever at the end? Ryan, hold onto your hat. That does it! I'm going to learn to play the sax. PS: What is that opening blurb you guys play B4 your reactions? Without emotion, music is lost IMO. Glad you liked it. the Movie was decent as well IMO and I waited about 30 odd years to see it, because I love the song so much. The "hitler" part as you put it, on the movie clip refers to her character actually being anti fascist, and she plays an aspiring punk type artiste. Wesley definitely deserved co-billing on this track though, brilliant sax solo played with emotion.
