I have been suggesting this sort of drop-chance gradual increase for years and years. This should be applied across the board for all the coveted items such as mounts, pets, rare transmogs, etc. Each time the item does not drop, the next attempt after reset will be a small tiny bit greater, and keep increasing until the item drops for you. No one should have to spend years and hundreds of attempts on an item in a video game.

Holiday mounts and such were never prestigious. I just hope now with this change I can get the Love Rocket after 16 years or however long it was first implemented.

I had some unopened caches when they did the first buff and those were indeed buffed when I opened them.

FYI if you buy on an alt something you already purchased and learned, the game will allow you to buy it but not to learn it. then you can vendor it back and get reimbursed. I learned that after purchasing something by mistake a 2nd time.

As always, another great video. A bit off-topic but.....can anyone explain to me why a drop rate on a level 35 item is so rare? I am speaking of the Dustbringer from Northrend. I sadly have been fishing for over a month with well over 16,000 casts and nothing. Yes, I fished up several Dark Herrings, but not one Dustbringer. I want to give up but now it is personal, Lol

Oooh. That's what they meant in the bad luck protection. That makes more sense than what I thought, which was that the more alts you ran, the more of a boost you got. Thanks for the clarification.

Unfortunately i'd been ignoring the holiday collections for a while so needed to collect 2500 flowers.... u get around 1200 per character if you clear all locations / cities and kills.

yay i've been wanting that self highlight for a long time now. really excited for that as someone that has put a lot of time into making the game more accessible and having to use addons (different font styles, larger font, UI scale, etc). For people with a hard time w/ vision, concentration, or dizziness, having those options are really awesome. Hopefully they add some of the other things eventually too.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the dragon skin drop for me today (2nd day, 2nd attempt). The golden fire armor is perfect with my newly 70 blood elf fire mage who also just received his matching heritage armor set :) FIRE NATION!!!!

I never understood why the self highlight only worked during raids. I'm glad to see them always allowing it to be enabled.

Really dig the part where Hazel corrects the grammar of the announcement, like what my English teacher did to me a decade ago. Like Bob talked to John saying he was upset. Who's the "he" referring to? Lose 1 mark.

Btw, if you do enough Raids, you may not need to buy the Ensembles from the Vendors, as you'll already have the appearances learned for that Class.

The once-per-day for the dungeon drop does feel like it will make people maybe less resentful of low drop rates... but I have a feeling it might make the queues a lot longer. Always appreciate hearing about the changes! My goal this year really is the pet drop, I don't feel very strongly about the manuscripts. But they always seems to add new stuff to keep us engaged!

As someone who's currently very happily playing a DK in a Paladin set I bought in remix, I'm *so* clearing out all the vendors 😊 (Also just. As a collector lol. But I esp love that it makes the set pieces available per armor type and not class, that's SUCH a neat change.)

People need to stop complaining about how higher drop rates mean less prestige. Anything achievement-related (keystone master or AOTC or a multi-part chain or some weird mechanic) is still prestigious. It is not prestigious to have a mount that you had to spend years farming but the guy next to you got it the first time because it's a random drop (I'm talking to YOU, Heavenly onyx Cloud Serpent!) Everything that isn't achievement-related should have a higher drop chance OR ideally an increased drop chance on subsequent attempts. Sounds like Blizzard is going with increased chance, and I'm here for it!

They are retiring guild services (realm transfers) on the 22nd implying Prepatch on the 23rd seeing how guilds are becoming cross-realm, making guild transfers pointless.

I can confirm it is your first attempt at the boss After these rules went live. I had been farming the Ahunes frost scythe for YEARS. And after these changes went live I logged in and did the event and on my very first kill on my mage I got the staff. Thats it. We finally have good bad luck protection. and i even got the staff to drop two more times across my other characters while spamming the event. You know what this makes me think? That drop rates were actually bugged on holiday events for YEARS. and nobody ever noticed. Otherwise why change it now right?

I know you probably know this now (the news was just released,) but you don't even need an add on to tell you if you have bought something on the vendors, and they have made it so this includes on alts.

Note on the remix vendors; if the item says already known buy it and try to use it. Sometimes you still learn new appearances. If you can’t use it just sell it back for a full refund in bronze.

Question: Do you think is a good idea to make a speed set using the remix gear for after it ends? its very easy to get and very fast, but I don't know if it will keep the same stats after the remix characters transfer to regular wow

sry i dont want to be "that" guy but, how much hours do u spend ont he event? i started playing the event a couple of days ago and im allready finished with all class sets from all vendors, the "special weapon and armor sets" (locked behind the landfall achivement). got all the heirlooms (weapons) and garrosh shoulders, as well as all toys and pets. it doesnt take that long, make alot of alts (it takes like 2 hours to get to max level) and do the dailys and ur golden. and before some 1 asks, no i didnt spend like 10 hours a day for that, i work fulltime :)

I think I read it wrong. I read it, you can get an increased chance on first kill. Alt kills increase your bad luck protection. So the next days chance is higher. That’s not correct?

Can't you still get the staff from the green satchel on repeat clears on alts though?

I much preferred when special items during events could drop on multiple characters (alts), knowing I only have 17 chances for it to drop puts a lot of pressure on my little collectors soul.

The first attempt of the day on your account having a higher chance of an item dropping seems to apply to certain rewards and not others. on day 2 of the midsummer event I have still be alt farming (for capes for alts it's not a great drop rate for the capes) my 4th alt in the army got the deathfrost illusion to drop. Taking blizzard at their word and alts have 0 chance of seeing stuff drop after your first daily attempt on your main my alt shouldn't have been eligible for the drop for the deathfrost illusion as it was the 5th time that day I had queued for the boss, unless blizzard's change to holiday boss loot only applies to specific items so in the case of the midsummer festival that would be the drake manuscript and not something like the deathfrost illusion. Depending on what specific item you are trying to farm, the alt army strategy may not be completely dead with the new changes to how loot works.

Question Are you worried about all the changes that are happening to WoW since the Microsoft buyout?

I don't think the bronze cache will increase if you don't open until the increased bronze buff drops, because chest and other cache drops in the game determine the loot when it drops. I saved some gear chests unintentionally for a few levels and the gear was for the level I earned it at... not my current level if that makes sense. Otherwise, players could turn off auto-loot and peak into a randomized box until they liked the drop. Blizzard increase updates have always affected NEW drops, and very rarely would it affect old ones (usually modifying old gear, or they would give you a quest to make up some of the difference in bronze if the increase would have applied to saved caches).

Question?? It's a bit of a personal one, but am curious, have you cut your hair again since shaving it all off? Do you find that you love the short hair or do you ever miss the long? I have longer hair and it grows so fast that the urge to just shave it all off and start over is a yearly struggle

We might need more clarification on this. It just looks like to me that bad luck protection and once per day limitation only applies to the big item (holiday transmog in this case). Everything else seems like you should still be able to get the old way. Otherwise why am I getting the purple satchel on repeat attempts?

something nice for people who multibox, i was told if you have multiple characters killing the same boss you get multiple chances, i heard of people who got it on their 3rd or 4th character of a 5 group stack of them alone (i hope that explanation makes sense? it's 3 am here and brain doesn't work well anymore xD)
