Gamboa's hella good but he gets too aggressive and leaves himself open for shots. He did well in the early rounds against Crawford but became careless and caught lefts and rights.

sweetscience Rigo True, and I don't think he can move up but so far he's only 5'5, 140 will probably be his peak weight cause his height, don't wanna be fighting guys too tall who can keep him away with the jab. He is a superstar tho, and he needs to work on his Defense.

I liked him since I saw his fight on December 2012. He's fast and strong... What I like about him is his confidence and his fighting style.

Gamboa's best days are behind him. When he was in his 20's he was a specimen of an athlete, speed, power, agility, reflexes but now at almost 40 years old his best attributes are declining. He's still a great fighter tho but Tank is basically who Gamboa used to be and honestly at this point I see Davis knocking him out within 8 rounds

@@user-zb5fc3hy8mhe had some promotional difficulties. And his style of fight required him to be fast and sharp. That declined with age so he didn’t evolve so in his later years he got set up for up and coming fighters.

@@dawb86 I agree.. Terrence Crawford also has holes in his game. Gamboa hit him with a couple shots that if tank landed those he would sleep Crawford or hurt him.

@@dawb86 yes but if compare prime gamboa and with tank its like Tyson Lewis agains Tyson Berbick time. Very interesting see prime Tank vs Prime Gamboa(against salido for example). I think Gamboa win with closed desicion.Unfortenly wee dont see Gamboa Prime with elite fighter((with crawford was not prime Gamboa

beautiful form, possessing all the basic technical skills, fast, entertaining, got some power. but some where along the way, my boy lost his chin. Always fun to watch him, you have to respect him for getting in with the young pitbull cruz. I actually thought he was holding his own pretty well up against cruz who is also willing to get in with anybody. Its these type young new fighters like Cruz and OG's like Gamboa that keep this sport fresh and new, as old as it is.

Goldie Wan Kenobi Gamboa is a stronger fighter. Crawford has better skill. He can adapt to fighters quicker than others.

Gamboa always had a solid chin. His problem has always been foot position and balance. What i dont understand is how a man that comes from a place and lives near water cant work on his balance . Heck even a lake would do. That being said im still a fan. Dude brings it . Couple more days

Gamboa vs Mikey is what we all wanna see. Got my fingers crossed hoping they come to an agreement. Gamboa gets careless at times, and thats dangerous. But Mikey has tasted the canvas too. Bob Arum is kinda protecting Mikey to some degree. I hope they make the fight happen.

All you people talking shit about him losing to Davis.But this Gamboa did not fight Davis, he hardly even threw any punches, clearly Mayweather and the GayMoney Team bought the fight for Davis. This Gamboa would have destroyed Davis. Crawford had hard time doing that himself, Davis wouldn't have stood a chance.

These highlights are from damn near a decade ago. Gamboa does not have the same speed or sharpness. There is a reason why he's such a huge underdog against Davis. Still I hope he puts up a good scrap while he lasts. Power is the last thing to go as a fighter ages and Gamboa still has some pop.

Gamboa's time is over. He has got nothing more to give to the sweet science. He was wasted by signing on with a Promoter who could not get him regular fights and rusted away. So much talent, such great skills all were wasted away. Yuriorkis can now make an excellent fitness trainer and also develop a line of sportswear with his name. He should quit boxing for good as he has been everyone's punching bag since he was walloped by Bud Crawford.

Gamboa vs Crawford is all wrong for Gamboa. Gamboa is at a weight he has only fought once against a guys who's pretty much made a career out of the weight. Too bad no one wanted to fight him at the lower weights. I want Gamboa to win but I just can't imagine him beating Crawford in his comfort zone.
