PropTalk Magazine's Chris Charbonneau takes a ride from Annapolis to Baltimore with Brad Heil from Chesapeake Yacht Center aboard the HCB Yachts 65' Estrella, and gets an inside look at the world's largest center console powerboat. This sixty-five foot HydraSports Custom boat is powered by five Seven Marine 627S custom outboards built on CTS V8 motors for a grand total of 3,135 horsepower!

Look at HCB 53 suenos and Scout 53 LXF. They’re expensive but more worth than this

These guys are happy, happy...the captain of this boat (yacht), was delivering it to the Keys to one of the owners of the Boston Celtics...tore out of a "no wake zone" using all 5 engines. Five witnesses nearly killed, people fishing on the dock with little kids, the only boat on dock was my sons and his wifes. Extensive damage to their home sail boat when it slammed into the dock, elderly father a Veteran, was visiting at the time, was so shook up, wife was cooking in the boat. Spoke to arrogant, punk captain, who owned up to it, however, told them to take a hike, "prove it"? Marina won't produce video, police said they "can't do anything", (5 witnesses) no call back from company that produces this boat, lawyers want large amount of money up front. Must be nice to be so "big" that you don't need to be accountable to anyone, where even the police and marina will protect you?

adam1885282 at cruise speed 4k rpm it burns almost 150gph at 40 mph. Range a lil over 400 miles. Boating mag did a test on it.

300 miles at the most under normal running. Middlegrounds and back gonna cost you over 5 grand? I just don't see the point. Gibe me a 80 foot hatteras. I can fish, live on it and bang all the chicks in the air conditioned stateroom

My brother had a 20 ft. ski boat with one 250 h.p. Merc and believe me, with just one engine, that beast "sucked gas" like there was no tomorrow. I'd hate to think what having six motors would eat. Is it miles per gallon? NOPE! It's gallons per mile. Oh well, maybe if I win the lottery. lol. I don't know what gas at marinas in the U.S. costs, but, here in Ontario, Canada, marinas really "stick it you." They ALWAYS charge about 20%-25% more than fuel at gas stations. WHY? Because they KNOW they have you by the short and curlies. My brother always filled up four, five gallon "Jerry" cans at a station before leaving Toronto.

Well, all of you armchair types complaining about this boat simply miss the point: Yes, this is the zenith of excess. Of course, nobody needs this boat. That ain't the point. When you have hundreds of millions - and life is so short, go for it! Hell in a handbasket. Yep.

It's a lot of money. But if you look at it another way. You can't use diesels big enough to match that power level, in that style boat, not enough room. And if you could, it would cost way more money, like 100s of thousands more.
