Everytime I buy a new headphones they have their own character and you love them for that. Not that one is better than another - you love them both for what they are. It is like you have 2 kids. Hey Troy what would you recommend the closed or open back version of the H6 Pro? I heard mixed reviews from both. For example, how the treble is really high and hurts peoples ears on the open back or the clamp force on the closed back. Both sound and comfortability is very important to me. I'm looking to get either one of these for Christmas can't choose between the two. I play FPS and free roam games on my Xbox X and this is why I want a fine balance between the environment and detailed sounds like footsteps. Which headphones would you recommend? Thank you, have a merry Xmas

Closed-back version of the H6PRO. It has a high sensitivity, but that can easily be controlled with the volume. It’s very comfortable for me. I like the sound signature. All that is subjective, so you’ll have to be the real judge. Merry Christmas to you too.

@District.24
@District.24 Жыл бұрын
The HD560S will work on just the PS5 controller, but you won't get the best sound. The impedence of the HD560S is 120 ohms. It was designed to be used with an amp. In contrast, the H6PRO from EPOS is 28 ohms. It was designed to work at its best without an external amp. If you are going to using the HD560S, buy an amp/dac.

@@jimmypalsson960 I have both now yes, still deciding which ones to keep. Closed have better comfier earpads with worse sound but not by much - EQ helps. Open sound better but ear pads suck, very stiff - normal foam inside and they get warm just as fast - not too hot though. Therefore I am awaiting new pads which arrive in approx. 2 weeks. Still comfier than HD560s though, but the sound is far from HD560s though. For gaming H6pros are great, for music listening HD560s are far superior. I must say I am leaning towards closed ones since the sound isolation has grown on me and open ones leak sound way more than HD560s. To be honest, if I were doing it again I would keep the HD560s and buy cable mic that fits into HD560s and new thicker earpads with memory foam!

Hello guys, I want to share something. Yesterday I went to a music store and tested a few headphones. Audio-Technica m40x - Bad sound quality. I've expected a lot more. All other headphones have better sound than these. Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X - Tiny sound without any bass. From the moment I put them on my head and listen to them for 10 sec I wanted to take them off. My HD598 have a way way more bass and they are supposed to be with very low bass. Meze 99 Classics - Bassy but muddy mids and highs. I didn't like them. Beyerdynamic DT 1770 Pro - Pearcing highs. Sound was crystal clear as on other headphones from beyerdynamics. Sennheiser HD660s - It is good for music. Intimate more close to your ears sound. Chill. Did not like them for gaming. Sennheiser HD560s - These are the one. They have bass, mids and highs just right. They are good for gaming and music. Nomatter what I say or the reviewers - you need to try them for youself to understand. I went to the store with the idea to buy HD660s but ended up buying HD560s. In addition to the headphones I've tried two DAC/AMPs. For reference I have Fiio e10k, gsx300 and Soundblaster G6. So I've tried iFi ZEN DAC V2 (TrueBass) and ZEN Air DAC (xbass). I will say just that I immediately bought the iFi ZEN DAC V2 (TrueBass). This DAC with truebass ON is such a pleasure to listen in combination with HD560s. The bass boost on fiie E10k suck so much compared to the truebass on ifi zen dac v2. I've tried my HD560s + zen dac playing The Witcher 3 and RainbowSix and they sound amazing. Thats it.

As you know, sound is subjective. What sounds good to you sounds awful to someone else. You did the right thing by physically testing the headphones to hear which sounded pleasant to your ears. The M40x is a monitoring headphones, and therefor should, in theory, not colour the sound signature. Perhaps, what you’re hearing is it doing it’s job. Nonetheless, everyone will hear something different.

So I recently did get a 560S. Pro is you hear Everything but a con is also you hear everything. Songs that maybe aren't mixed very well or have particularly strong highs can come off as a little harsh. So for music I think I don't want something that softens those up a little bit so it can be more enjoyable unless work. That being said, the 560s when you are looking for those details I think makes a great gaming headphone, If you can take the highs being a little harsh sometimes like on gunfire etc. But that might be something I just need to get used to. I am still very curious about that h6 pro and I don't think I'm going to be able to make a decision about them until I hear them for myself, which is what I had to do for the 560S.

The HD 560S is a reference headphone meant for critical listening, and on that it does very well. In my review, I acknowledged that the 560S has superior imaging, but I didn’t enjoy the overall sound signature as much as the TYGR 300 R and H6PRO. You should get your hands on the H6PRO for testing.

I hear that the PC38X is close to the 560S, with the 560S providing a neutral sounding profile, with clarity due to a bump in high frequencies. I own both the PC38X and H6Pro (open back). For music I prefer the PC38X over the H6Pro. Haven't tried the closed H6, but to me the H6Pro open sounds a little artificial in the mid-range, and too dark for my taste. The bass is great, and thumping, great for Rock, RnB and EDM. But for genre such as orchestra (I listen to Two Steps from Hell, Immediate Music, Hans Zimmer, Brian Tyler, etc.), the PC38X sounds much more natural and balanced. For gaming, the H6Pro has better imaging. It lets me hear more footsteps since it has lots of focus on the little sounds, the openness of the PC38X sometimes make those little sounds a bit subdued and faint. The H6Pro is also feels a lot more exciting in FPS since I could hear more around me, even though the sound stage is not as large. With louder volume, it feels like surround speakers/theater room. The PC38X sounds more open and clear, like I was there. They are both good in their own ways.
