All award shows except for gaon awards has been counting repackage way before BTS and EXO debuted, that's because the industry sees the repackage as part of the base album. Now, BTS's album her has 1.3 million and EXO's the war has 1.57M on gaon. And yes, they also count C version for EXO is a korean-Chinese group not just a korean group. If anyone has any problem with C version, tough luck, the whole k-media and all award shows counts it. Plus, even if u exclude the C version, the k version of the base album and the repackage still has more sale than her. EXO's the war digital is also better than BTS's album her. The war is the 6th most streamed album of 2017, BTS's album her is not on top 10. I m not dragging BTS, i m just explaining why EXO won. Again, if someone tries to say that BTS out streamed EXO, its only because they r adding up their 10 month old wings repackage album with their new album to beat EXO's 4 month old album. They can't add those digital of two different album, they can't do this for album of the year. Its only possible for artist of the year, which they have won. For album of the year, BTS's album her was up against EXO's the war, so only BTS's digitals from her can b counted. Some armys also think that spotify, you tube views, international achievements & charts, Billboard, ellen, AMAs has a big impact on korean award show. IT DOESN"T. None of those things r part of the criteria. Korean award shows only collects data from korea music site and their sale over there. The war korean version: 940,315K The power of music (the war repack) korean version: 446,097 Total: 1,386,412 BTS's album: 1,376,915 So see even if MAMA didn't include C version, The war still has more sale with k version.So EXO-Ls use this information to defend EXO against people who didn't bother researching and doesn't know the criteria for album of the year. They have super strong unity as one group - making sure everyone hold each other's hands. 3. Humble - I am not Korean but I know what bowing symbolizes in their culture. Their bow was LONG while multiple members were trying not to cry. They had to try hard to forget their emotions and thank their fans, their supportive SM and colleagues, and their families throuh that action. I can't believe that I stan this legend group since 2012. It's hard to loving someone or something this long, but EXO can make me love them until now. Idk why, I just love them so much, and I still love the ex-members too. I feel so happy to see them performing, laughing, crying together, become more and more close.
