→ Join me on this ultra-rare domestic heavy flight onboard Delta's Flagship A350-900 on a short hop from Detroit to Minneapolis! Even the captain came into the cabin to recognize how rare this flight is! We begin at Detroit's gate A34 and pushback. The current traffic pattern was departing/landing to the north, so we taxi to runway 4R for departure. As we enter the runway, the beautiful hum of this ultra-quiet A350 fills the air. We rotate shortly after. Climbing out north, we turn left to head west towards Minneapolis. We cross the state of Michigan, the Lake of Michigan (did that on purpose) and the state of Wisconsin before beginning our approach into Minneapolis. Sadly, a good majority of the flight had the ground obscured by either smoke or an overcast layer. And that smoke just got thicker as we approached Minneapolis. It got SO thick that visibility was down to less than 2 miles. It is truly sad to see the condition of Minnesota due to the Canadian wildfires. We line up for landing on MSP's runway 30L and gracefully touchdown. Using up a good 70% of the runway, we exit and taxi to gate F12, where this flight terminates.
