Even though I am glad that 5 F59PHR’s are still running 851, 852, 856, 868, and 873 even though 851 and 852 are probably being used as switchers as of rn, and I have not heard much of 856 even though I saw it last year in August 2022, it is a shame that all of the Metrolink non rebuilt F59PH’s, 2 of the F59PHR units 851 and 870, and all of the Metrolink F59PHI units 874 to 887 have all been retired. The variance of Metrolink locomotives has dropped drastically between 2018 and 2020. We got the F125s in 2017, but most of the F59s with the exceptions of 852, 856, 861, 868, and 873 started to be replaced and 2018 and the last of the non rebuilt PH and PHI’s were retired in 2020. I do miss the days when the F59s were very common on Metrolink, especially me seeing them when I was younger. The first time I saw a Metrolink F59 was back in 2013, if I remember correctly, when I saw a Metrolink F59PH at Irvine. I also saw Metrolink 800 at Irvine that same year if I remember correctly, and rode on SCAX 800's set from Irvine to Anaheim. 800 was trailing. I was unable to catch 800 on video, photos, or both before it was retired, but I am happy that I was able to see it back then around 2013 if I am correct.

Brings back memories. I remember once when a friend of mine and I went to go railfanning at Fullerton and the first thing we saw was SCAX 800 on a Westbound (Rear DPU) waiting to highball.
