Cos they were trained specifically to become main vocalists so vocally they apparently trained separately from the rest of the girls.

Abigail Casuga Finally saw someone who appreciates Hyoyeon's voice! I love her voice so much especially in Goodbye and Romantic St. Her voice adds a different sound to SNSD songs. 💕

Taeyeon have the most powerful voice tbh . Jessica revealed in strong heart that she doesn't sing the chorus part in live performance . I guess that's why her voice is more stable .

Jessica and Taeyeon once again proved that they are the main vocals.... Great Control and can hear their voice every chorus.. Some of them crack but look at them happy and still smiling.. This is what Girls Generation when they were still enjoying.. At 2:56 after Yoona sang she smiled as she turned and her eyes were like "Yow I didn't crack yehey *smiles*" How cute right

SNSD IS THE ONLY GIRL GROUP THAT GIVES ME AMAZING STAGE VIBES. their presence is just so iconic. i miss these days. now that we have twice, kpop sucks. thank god snsd is still a band, without them kpop is dead.

Cracked voices in this performance shows that this is live. You rarely hear cracked voice in performances nowadays because it's mostly pre recorded or lipsync.

There's no such thing as 1st and 2nd Main/Lead vocalist. It's only main vocalist and lead vocalist. it's up to the people how they rank their vocals but those position doesn't really exist.
