Ian Charleson asked me for my programme for Guys and Dolls because it was one he and his fellow actors hadn't seen yet and they wanted to see what photos of themselves had been used (I was in the National Theatre green room as a guest). Charleson was totally unlike the character he was in Chariots. Charleson tragically succumbed to AIDS.

@@henkoosterink8744Ennip did the theme to 'The Life And Times Of David Lloyd Jones' a politician. It was a mini series on TV. Spring 1981, Chariots of Fire was released that Spring too.

My grandfather was having a beer in the afternoon in the Rose and Crown in Bebington on the Wirral, when the film crew burst in and offered everyone £10 if they would fill the grandstand at the Oval track in Bebington for the filming sequence. Needless to say, he got a free hat and a place in history.

Why go to the trouble of writing a new Olympic theme for each of the games? Just use this magnificent piece of music every 4 years. God bless Vangelis ❤

I'm sorry sir - but you might want to check the 1996(?) Atlanta Olympics John Williams composed "Summon The Heroes" That might be the most played Olympic Score outside of the theme from the 1972 Munich Games ABC Wild World Of Sports used the 72 Munich theme music for what seemed like 30 straight years (estimated)

Yes I remember this song always associated with major sports events in the 1980's and 1990's especially those that won the Olympics at that time.

Seeing and hearing this song and movie when I was a kid brought upon emotions I can never replace. It's like a scene from heaven here on Earth and I wish I could experience it like I did back then. These spirited men played a huge part and made it all the more surreal.

This theme has stayed with me since it first came out I am now 63. I have often revisited places I knew as a kid and the are abandoned and run down and always Flambards theme pops into my head.

Certainement l'un des plus beaux films qui puissent se concevoir sur les Jeux Olympiques. Film magnifié par la musique de Vangelis. Il met en valeur deux légendes du sport britannique, la culture du sport britannique et la triomphe d'hommes dans la rivalité et la loyauté. Cependant, le film prend quelques libertés avec la réalité.
