Heavy D? Stole that song from Third World 1979: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/lZujdJuIsN7dmoU.html So don't give me the nostalgia about how great music was in the 80s. You couldn't find a singer or musician in the Hip Hop Top 10 in the 80s. All just ripped off samples of REAL hit music from the 70s.

For sure, the first time you heard this song was in 1973, you were 24 years old. The first time you heard the Heavy D version was in 1991 and you were 42, You are now 75 and still living the good life, The world was such a different place in 73 and 91 when compared to 2024 You only needed a halfway decent voice and a good song for a record deal back then, Now you have to blow up on socials before any label will even say hello.

One day, at my Newport Beach restaurant job, a man arrived a little while before we were open. I greeted him outside, and we talked for awhile. He introduced himself as Dwight and we chatted for about 20 minutes. He was genuine, kind, loving, funny, and I proper enjoyed speaking with him. He spoke a lot about his family and he listened to me talk about mine. He was just a normal dude. However, he stuck out in my mind because he was different than so many people you meet in the “fancy restaurant industry”; he was so sweet, he could hold a lovely conversation, and he just radiated a love for people (especially his family, that was clear). I’ve met many celebrities in my life, and I had no idea that Dwight was famous. I hope his family sees this and is reminded of just how many people he’s affected…. NOT as a celebrity, NOT as Heavy D, but as a human being.

Alex Frazier he was smooth... definitely would have been a bigger sensation in today's age of social media. At the same time, it's nice to know he is a treasure not everyone knows or overplays. It's funny though this song received criticism because the original by Third World was so beloved. In hindsight, this jam is a gem in its own right. Music is Timeless. We can appreciate at first impression or years after it was recorded 😍

Queen LeLe Heavy D and the Boyz's motto regarding their music was they were not going to curse in their songs. They were a rarity in Hip Hop Music. Heavy D felt it was very unnecessary to use foul language in rap songs. He didn't believe in it and this is why the group's music was admired by all ages of people. Heavy D is tremendously and wholeheartedly missed by everyone who grew up listening to him and the boyz.

THEE ABSOLUTE BEST DANCE ERA when the "New Jack Swing" style came out. In my honest opinion only of course. I know every era has it's own but the 80's and early to mid 90's had the best dance songs you could ever imagine. It was so fun going to a night club. Never a dull moment with this kind of music playing. I miss it dearly. R.I.P. Heavy D. You are missed!
