I thought the same until I flew the 17g mobula 6 2024, its amazing. The increase in weight is not worth it for the cam quality of HDZero, I think walksnail is the one to watch.

It's literally just one more gram weight penalty and you get WAAAY better resolution@@25Kam25Kam25 these still fly like cinewhoops no matter what (or fly for sub 2 minutes). More than 20 grams is too heavy in 65mm category. Also, analog is way to go for 65mm and 75mm still. + These small digital VTXs are so fragile (my own experience).

Yes agreed - it all comes down to the weight, which is very important especially on a whoop an particularly a 65. Maybe HDZ will be able to close this gap even further in the future 🤔 WS is very nice but for me, it is the latency that hurts me more than anything else

Having both analog and hdzero, I really appreciate the hdzero for sheer image quality but when I’m pushing into areas where my signal can’t penetrate as well, I find my hdzero goes to shart pretty quickly with almost a full rainbow screen while with analog I’m able to still “see” through the image and make it. Not all the time but most of the time. But this is me pushing both systems to their limits. Maybe I’m just used to analog :)

Agree with you 100% - analog will hold on and have a more usable image to me for longer than HDZ will. I just notice that HDZ will hold a crystal clear image for longer than analog will. I guess a bit of a trade off

Depends on how durable it is. Most whoop size hdzero gear has been very delicate and expensive to replace so far. I've seen multiple videos by reviewers and no one has commented on reliability so far. Either there's no problems to report or everyone is keeping quiet so they don't upset divimath.

Not my experience, my hdz whoop has been crashed a ton without issue. Obviously that's anecdotal but you are the first person I have run into saying HDZ is fragile. Well.... Excluding the SMA connectors on the goggles but I have heard they changed them since the OG model.

I dont think these new ECO kits have been out long enough to give any hard evidence as to their durability TBH. All I can go off of is my own experience so far and this board has survived. But, not sure if you made it to this point in the video, i mentioned durability issues on my original whoop lite boards and why I purposefully chose to use the MOB 6 canopy for this build. I want to make sure this board is protected as much as possible

Ahh very true - I should have specified I was comparing the 3 major HD FPV systems. But I do hear OpenIPC is growing. Can that system be run off 1s power? Is it small enough for whoops? I don’t know much about it

Power looping the house and flying through the two open doors is very cool. You have great control and precise freestyle look. The night view outdoors on that ECO cam is fantastic! I've not seen anyone pointing out this strength of the camera. Looking forward to my Mob6 ECO getting here in a week or so!

I agree 5in1 is needed. Nick Burns just hinted at one in his Tyrantts pro whooper video. I wont switch to hdzero until that 5in1 comes out and is noticeably better than analog.

5-1 is the last piece of puzzle! As long as the board is durable (and isnt crazy expensive) I will make the switch. This eco quality is good enough for me but if they could make it a bit better that would be welcomed. I just like how HDZ breakup is less severe in the ranges I usually fly at. Almost crystal clear. Although Analog for sure still has better overall range and pen. Thanks for the watch, Shauny!

After seeing someone get over 4 minutes on the eco mobula 6 I decided to give 65mm the benefit of my serious doubt once again. Flying forward flight around my house on brand new tinywhoop 300mah cells I get just under 3 minutes. Dont think i ever exceeded 60% throttle (basically hovering). Garbage. I can get about 3.5 mins on my 18.97g 65mm hdzero with old whoop lite gear OR just fly a 75 - 75 Pro with 550 cells and get 3.5 hard flying(well over 60% mostly). My backup was to swap the super x hd onto a 1s 3" and eco cam onto a Fractal 75 Pro.

4 min on eco mob 6?! No way on that KV with that weight. I dont think ive seen close to that flight time even on low KV 0702s on my 16g 65. 75mm will definitely give you more efficiency, but then youll have to balance the KV/power you're looking for compared to flight time

So, I fell in love with the walksnail moonlight cam for the low light capability. I found walksnail to be too unreliable and I don't like how they handle degradation. I made the switch to HDZero. I had NO IDEA the ECO cam had such strong low light sensors. I've only ever flown mine in lit areas. I have 4 of them lmao. Going to take mine outside for a test right now. It's about twilight currently in Florida.

@@MoeFPV it is fair to say that you only need the WS pro camera to get the low light capability. The moonlight VTX just enables 4K recording on built in storage. I’ve now moved entirely away from WalkSnail to HDZ. Planning to sale my goggles X. Aside from penetration, I prefer everything HDZ over WalkSnail personally at this point. Aside from how fragile the new Eco VTX is. Poor QC on them is turning me off.

I would love to see a HDZero 5in1 AIO, but an entire board in a tiny chip, I'd be broke in less than a heartbeat. The Eco camera isn't that bad at all considdering the price for the kit. Would be amazing if the Whooplite board got a boost to 400mw. Really that's what I'm hoping for. The resizing of the Freestyle was amazing. This looks like a really fun build, I think I have the idea for this Meteor 75Pro frame now. Awesome ripage btw, amazing. Cheers!

Yeah even a 200mw aio would be amazing. I get really good range and penetration all things considered from the whooplite and 200mw vtx’s at my regular fly spot. Regardless, Ive been really happy with HDZero since preordering goggles.

I just got my Eco Mob6 but it has been frustrating. VTX sometimes powers up and sometimes doesn't and sometimes powers up but no signal. Pressing on the Ufl connector sometimes will fix it. Only flown 2 packs so far lol. I guess I will need to tear it down and check my power connections. The 2 packs I did fly in house was good tho. Less breakup than my OG HDZero Mob6 even on 25mw output. I also thought it was a little peppier and smoother in control with default settings. Gotta get that short figured out...

Wow to be honest with you I would immediately reach out to the vendor and start an exchange. That should not be happening out of the box - don’t take it upon yourself to fix a brand new product ! I’m sure HDZ will help you out

The range and penetration of analog is still much better than hdzero. I think it's fantastic they made a kit for that price, but it's definitely not ready to replace analog...yet. even the high penetration mode for hdzerodidn't do much at all. It really shines in low light performance over analog, but analog still has the range and penetration.

Completely agree with everything you said here - analog still outperforms in terms of usable range. What I noticed is that HDZ will stay breakup free for longer than analog but analog will out range it in usable breakup

im still not sure if hdzero worth in aspect of video quality compared to analog. very little improvement there. also i like the warmth of analog. feels like 1980 F1 footage lol.. hdzero white balance always looks too off lean towards to too much blue.

So HDZ is the only true ultra-low latency HD system - i wont poorly quote the data but, if youre interested, check out Chriss Rosser's latency testing video. It will show all the HD systems Latency in comparison to analog

This is a custom build so i did a bit of tunning myself for the higher KV motors but I usually start on UAV Techs whoop present and mess with values from there

Shogun! Thanks man - and yes, HDZ Goggles DVR. I've heard/seen some big differences in quality from the VRX compared to the goggles. Goggle DVR looks amazing after some Topaz magic, as well !

Can I get the camera and lens separately? Can I get the lens for the nano V3 separately? (A few of my whoop lites need new lenses and I am currently using Runcam 1/2” sensor lenses, which have beautiful colours, sharpness, and huge FOV but are way too big and stick out too much. Plus they only screw in one turn to set focus, so definitely not for the freestyle builds.) Also camera housing would be nice, I would draw and print one, but I don’t have the 6 hours it would take me with my mediocre skills. If anyone has any info on HDZero replacement parts that would be awesome!!! At least my Runcam90s and micro cameras have widely available lens replacements. But the whoops and toothpicks need some love too.

@@MoeFPV as long it’s of no burden. I just happened to be watching your video when I remembered that I have 5 whoop lite cameras that I bought just for the lens. It’s not about the money for me, I just don’t like being wasteful. That’s why I learned to repair stuff and have a free repair service for all the people in my area. FETs, voltage regulators, gyros and CPUs are dirt cheap and easy to replace and keep stuff running for significantly longer. Plus I have a supply of basically all the common stuff and can get myself and others back in the air within minutes.

Only if you use the whoop lite board. The ECO only has one camera option due to the way it's connected.

Bah ha ha ha indeed ! I think analog will always have its place in FPV especially the micro realm, if for nothing else but price and availability. But as hd continues to improve and cost less, I think we’ll certainly see the % of pilots flying analog get lower and lower

The setback is the price of the goggles. Seriously. $ 500 is too much to pay for goggles, it just is regardless of how "Good" the video is. Now, if you could get a set for say $ 250 or maybe even $ 300...well at least is might be a consideration. Until the price of goggles comes down, analog will still be around.

Thats a good point - the barrier to entry for HDZ is above just the cost of the VTX. Technically you can pick up the VRX for a cheaper price but, in my opinion, the VRX is not up to the same quality of the goggles. I will always have a few analog whoops in my fleet!

@@turionb1408 I guess that just depends on what you do with the video because it certainly isn't about piloting the craft or just having fun. I don't do anything with the video which is basically irrelevant to me, so there is little to NO "Value" in HD video. Well that makes it, NOT Worth it, for what they want for it. Plus, you lose a quad, it is just more money lost. Don't say that folks don't lose quads because they absolutely DO. Not just me, but others. Truth is HD digital is Not worth it for all folks. I am one of them. Long Live Analog. Maybe I should stock up while there are parts and they are relatively inexpensive.
