My assumption with the cruise missile is that it doesn't read the boss as an enemy, so it won't lock on and deploy the first missiles. That's why people wait for zombies to spawn so it locks on to them, but the boss is in the way so it takes the hits instead before the main missile hits. When I first used the cruise missile and there were no zombies it didn't deploy and just smacked the boss

And to everyone that doesn't know why the missile rarely works in the boss fight. It doesn't split for the boss, but if there is a zombie of any kind close to the boss it will split and hit both the zombie and the boss. Throwing a decoy is a easy way to garuantee success with this

Best Aether Shroud jump skip is from jug to trials. If you go about 10 feet from the window next to jug you can shroud through the wall to trials
