They do use it, regularly, only to miseducate themselves. The education you're referring to is just conspiracies and emotional hysteria to people like this. He would say the same thing about you, just get online and educate yourself. It's more of an ideological indoctrination issue than an access to information issue.

Co-signed, I live here too. The only time I've seen something even close to this is 16th street, which is known for having a large homeless population. I assume even that's going to change since they are renovating the area and planning on kicking them out.

The mall portion was hilarious. As former mallrat myself, I've looked into what's caused their decline and strangely enough online sales were more a final nail in the coffin then the initial killer. Malls killed themselves. Truth was Malls were struggling by the mid 90's since the operational cost of maintaining the property itself far exceeded what any developer was willing to pay. And with that came higher cost for leasing store space which eventually left mostly large chain stores and 60% dead space. So weirdly enough Jovan is wrong but not for the reasons the caller says.

@@moehasan7534 no, for it to apply as an ad hominem you have to actively ignore the opposite side’s argument and instead insult them as a ‘response’. jovan was just insulting them, he wasn’t doing an ad hom because jovan addressed the caller’s point & countered it, whereas the guest ignored his point & insulted him instead. it’s like a pivot, but instead of another topic it’s just someone insulting someone instead of addressing the argument
