As someone who spent years running school level events that are so small compared to the scale of the events that Aiden is running, I still relate so much to this stress- I would probably want to put anyone who asks for the wristband thing in the ring and then fight them (although Mang0 is the goat so I would do what Aiden did and then go cry in a corner afterwards) Event organisers are not appreciated enough man

While watching this episode I decided that it was time for me to get into Smash. First I went and watched a couple of movement tutorials for Melee. It looked pretty easy so downloaded the rom and tried playing for my first time ever. I attempted to play through the "classic mode" for maybe 20 minutes and it was hard! It felt very stiff compared to what I've experienced in Smash Ultimate. I now have a new-found appreciation for all the insane shit the pros are pulling off. From this point on I'll be watching a lot more tournaments trying to get a grasp on the complicated mechanics by watching it.

I don’t think I could be friends with mang0. If a friend treated me like that on the job I would lose a lot of respect and trust in them. I think that Melee is actually really hard to understand what's happening UNTIL death. It goes so fast that unless you're a smash head you just don't really get when someone makes a good play. Chess on the other hand, is slow enough that casters can really contextualize what's happening for average joe. I think the big hold back at lud's event was the tech. If the chess tech had been 100% I think it would have been more hype than melee on average. I think that they could take the data and experience from this and make an EVEN BIGGER event if the chess tech (overlays etc) was done right

I thnkk melee looks cooler and hype especially when you see combos to death that’s hype no matter what. But then if you actually play only then will you notice how actually insane what they’re doing are

@@4purs potentially agree to disagree. I've played melee pretty casually, and pro play kinda turns into visual soup for me. Even the regular combos are a bit hard to follow. If we're talking avg joe and jane that potentially don't even play video games, it's a bit intimidating compared to chess, which practically everyone has exposure to. Tbf, I think having both is very cool
