I’ll be 75 next Friday, so I did MCM first hand. I didn’t have all the amazing stuff that I love now, but I was a bit bohemian in my decorating. I’m a bit amused at you kids and your gallery walls. I believe they were invented in my day(66-67) I had a wonderful one and I did them for others. But we called them GROUPINGS. I wish I could find the pictures of them. Maybe they’ll turn up.

I DIED when I saw the purple Iris painting! It was toward the end, had a citron/mustard yellow background with a wooden frame! I’m always hunting for purple Iris, as that was my late mother’s favorite flower.❤️ neat finds!!

I have the candle holders that go on the Christmas tree that were my great grandmother's. We still put them on the tree along with the lights. We light the candles while we sing two German Christmas carols then we blow them out an plug in the lights and sing American Christmas carols. A family tradition we have followed for decades.

Japan is an incredible place to visit. We lived in Tokyo for a year, loved it. Just don't go in the summer, we visited Kyoto in July and it was so incredibly hot we had to leave a day early. Tokyo nearly as bad. Fall is the best weather!

When we were stationed in Germany my mother had us pick out Christmas ornaments at the Christmas markets every year. We took them with us when we moved out. I did the same thing with my daughter until we moved stateside.

@ 24:10 My parents had one of those glass decanters in metal/wire frame, and it had a wind up key on the bottom and played music. They had a collection of fun barware, typical 50s stuff.

There is an old 3 story converted school house in Lafayette OR that is FULL of antiques and vintage items....Sleepy lil town and if you blink you'll miss it. It will not disappoint.

I can not believe my eues The things that u purchase at the antique estate sales n so forth are absolutely gorgeous I wish I truly wish I could buy them n decorate my house with them

At your 1:50 time stamp you are showing red garland bead hangings. As a child growing up in the 1950's we strung cranberries every fall before they where completely dry to help the needle to go into them easier, plus then they would be dry and hard for the Christmas Tree in 2 months. We would string two 20 foot long strands. Then just before Christmas we desmantel one and then restring it with popcorn in between. Since the holes were already in the cranberries they were easy to restring. Other than a few Austrian bulbs my Mom collected over the years and childhood homemade ornaments, this was our cherished tree. These were not the most beautiful trees for anyone else to look at, but to us it was the most beautiful creation. Fast forward to the 12th day of Christmas or on the Feast of the Epiphany, we then would put our real tree outside as a winter treat for the birds. They loved it and ate every last berry and corn. Simply? Yes, but the most treasured memory of my childhood that no money in the world could buy.

I went to Japan in 2013. We took my daughter as a gift for graduating from high school. We had friends stationed there with the Navy at the time. It was truly a trip of a lifetime. I had never really had a desire to go, but our friends were there and we knew we could stay longer if we stayed with them. We had the best time and all of us still talk about that trip. We were good friends before but it really bonded us on a deeper level. And now my daughter and I are obsessed with all things Japan!

Laura, I couldn’t believe it when you talked about your interest with Mexican Paper Mache. About 2 months ago, I got 3 figures at Salvation Army, and they are really rough. They are workers depicting their jobs, and they look very amateurish but something about them made me want to pick them up. I haven’t done anything yet to resell them, but I think I will be doing that soon.
