When 50 came with that song he definitely got the industry's attention. Back then 50 was wild, cuz they was trying to black ball him.

This is just for fun. He wasn’t really dissing them. But a lot of people took this to heart. Ghostface, Raekwon and Big Pun wanted to see 50 over this track. Raekwon did a skit on Ghostface Supreme Clientele album, disguising his voice talking about 50 cent. In the hook it says “this ain’t serious”. It was all for fun and to get his name out there.

Everyone's talking about the responses - but the Madd Rapper was a character who did a bunch of skits on several Bad Boy records by D-Dot while he was a producer for them. He's on Biggie's album, the Lox first album, Ma$e's album, Puffy's solo album...and a few more. They are funny as hell! "Yo - tell em why you mad, son!" LOL

A lot of history in this song. Every body mentioned was alive at this time. Raekwon Rza and Ghost had these customer made gold rings they showed off( that was what 50was referring to) Busta rhymes had a song called ‘ gimme some more’ , Heavy dee had a song called ‘ I got nothing but love for you’ TQ was an artist out at the time. Look up Lil’ Kim’s dreams of a R&B dude. I think that reference went over your head. Brian McKnight had a song called “anytime”. Heavy D had a song called “nothing but love for ya”. Lots of song references in this song that will go over a lot of people’s head who were born after 1997. Also that part about Ma$e was a jingle from the song “Horse and Carriage”

Mad Rapper got a whole album that had some hits on it 😂 But yes he was a character created by producer D-Dot who produced for Bad Boy Records. He started as a character on BIGGIES album “Life after Death” and got so popular ended up going from character to rapper. He never got real big but was a staple on Bad Boy skits and interludes. I actually like a few tracks on his debut album. I used to wear out “ I’m Ghetto”.

This was the first song I heard from 50. It was all this funny jokes I think a couple of the rapper's caught feelings though pun, Jay-Z, Raekwon. Jay-Z had a bar or 2 on his intro to the dynasty about 50. Matter fact he was taking little shots at 50 Cent throughout that whole album. The Mad rapper was a skit on I think the no way out album, life after death Thats puff shit. The MADD rapper skits got to be the hardest in hip-hop. That shit is hilarious. I know rappers don't really put skits in their albums anymore but that and camrons skits funny AF. I think he put out an album but nobody really bumped it I think you'll find it on KZfaq. Is d. Dot who's the Mad rapper he's a producer
