I don't agree. Him winning wasn't unexpected since he was playing the best of everyone during the whole tournament. Mvg wasn't that bad, but Bunting was just going even a level further. Also: Bunting played the Grand slam SF in which he almost came back against Cross, then the PC Finals QF, he almost beat mvg and he also was great at WC, even tho he lost 4-0 to mvg. We all knew his first major title would be happening this year and the way he played this weekend showed that first title was happening this weekend

@giannivb7738 He was very involved in most tournaments he played in back in 2014, then kind of fell off the map. He's been good for quite a while.

This was bound to happen in 2024. Bunting is among the best 4 darts players for a few months now, because of the borderline criminal ranking system of the PDC Bunting often meets very good players before the semi-finals. besides, Wright, Aspinall are hopeless right now and Humphries is enjoying his world title a bit too much, and Littler absent, so Bunting had the opportunity of his life time.

@@G.G14 Yes it is. You have non-ranking majors and ranking majors. The Masters is a non-ranking PDC Major, so Bunting has won a major

That is so so well deserved. The best thing about darts is the stories that it produces and for the Bullet the story is about as good as they come. It took him a decade before he won the Lakeside title and then when he came to the PDC he was expected to be in the mix for the big titles but it didnt happen and then last year he changed the weight of his darts and suddenly he starts playing the darts of his life. For so many months i saw this man produce brilliant display after brilliant display and was always in the mix for titles. All that hard work he put in has paid off after a decade in the PDC. After the epic comeback against Ross Smith, he has just beaten 4 Premier League players in a row to lift his first major PDC title in his first televised major PDC final. After seeing him beat Peter Wright the way he did and when he was 4-1 up against the Asp i just thought hes gonna win the title today. Even though MVG was on form i just knew the Bullet wont be denied. The finishing was absolutely sublime and he earned this title by playing sublime darts. Couldnt be happier today and its one of the most well deserved victories ive seen.
