Beyond how ridiculous that flame thrower is, Mixtape's design is so well thought out. Considering how big that butane can actually is, the bot is surprisingly compact yet has more than enough armor and attachments up front to be an effective control machine. Though the wheels look like they'd be really fragile, they're actually quite effective even when damaged (as the fight with Jet Lag proved--Mixtape's wheels were in tatters but it never lost mobility). Calvin deserves massive credit for elevating a flamebot to this level in a meta otherwise loaded with spinners.

It’s incredible how effective it is, but it’s certainly aided by the driving skills of Calvin. Shreddit Bro v Mixtape was a driving clinic.

This is one of the things I love about this hobby. The box closes and you are enemies set to destroy each other. The box opens, the loser smiles and shakes hands, and the winner might even help him repair to face his next opponent.

Angel was such a good sport about it, his bot on fire and continuing to melt but doesn't tap out, just let's the match finish and be proud of the melted remains!

I love seeing the atmosphere of this competition, after each fight they shake hands and compliment eachother and talk about how awesome the fight was, It's all about fun here and there's simply just good vibes.

Suckered Punch is a marvel of engineering, but maybe a bit too ambitious I'm always down to watch Calvin absolutely shatter the bot meta, though

Ablation vs Project Liftoff might be my favorite NHRL fight of all time. Absolutely insane. (Who knows, maybe I’ll compete here someday! Though considering my bot building experience is Hexbug kitbashes, I’m not that confident lol.)

Another good episode! Minor notes: I nearly missed that this was a TIH because I didn't notice it in the thumbnail and it's not in the video title. Also, cutting in driver's speech/reactions over the fight sound is a little disorienting without a visual cue. Other than that, bloody brilliant work.

Mix Tape didn't lose that fight imo but I see where it was close. Will we get a Match Steward and appeal system at Norwalk similar to Battlebots in their new season? I wouldn't be opposed to that idea but that should be polled among builders only and always. Its not like Calvin can walk back 15 minutes later and tell the judges his bot would've worked fine if he hit a button really ever within reason.

Was going to say that fuel canister is a weak point and to put it in a metal maybe Titanium sleeve so it can’t be punctured as easy then he tells his opponent about his weak spot asking him to make it go boom lol
