I mean, she told her parents that he’s her boyfriend and they pretended to be a couple and then he left to study so they were never official but the parents don’t know that. They assume that she’s angry at him which she is.

He only cared about studying and she wrote a confession letter in uni and thought he read it and agreed to go on a date with her. It was a misunderstanding so all these years she thought he said she was dumb. And then they met again (that’s where the drama starts), he does something and now she’s determined to prove him wrong and tries to make him fall in love with a dumb girl, when she’s not. Her parents, like typical asian parents, wanted her to go on blind dates but she didn’t want to so she said that he was her boyfriend. Then they went back to her hometown and he agreed to pretend to be her boyfriend (she left him with no other choice). So they get closer and after they come back, he goes to research abroad for what I assume a year. He tried to tell her but she was drunk. During the flight, she wanted to meet him at the spot where she wanted to meet him back in uni when he first “ditched” her. And since he did it again, she blocked him and he couldn’t explain to her. After a while, he realises that he can balance his career and love, and there is something more important than his career. So he gets back and tries to win her back. This scene is her messing with him, like revenge, making him suffer for leaving her for a year and not telling her. Since she doesn’t want to go on blind dates and stuff, her parents still think they are dating. So it’s not pressuring and they both like each other. Hopefully this is enough details and a good explanation 😅.

I watched the uncensored kissing scene on other channel.. that's why I went with the idea they slept together.. but somehow with so much artist scandal nowadays the producer decided to cut the scene. like you said maybe because she was drunk it look like Prof zhuang a bad guy, taking advantage of her.

Oh , actually the team could play SMART. IF ONLY I was put inside their team. I would give some ideas such as : 1. We know, Meiren was very drunk, JUST MAKE HER PASS OUT SUDDENLY after some intense a bit long kiss, make Zhuang stop too, and make Zhuang hold her tight, bring her to her own bedroom, kiss her on the forehead tight again.
