You both are so right, before people got stupid and greedy, bears and other animals lived without interference. We're supposed to be taking care of the Earth, the animals and the environment, but instead most people keep thinking that they can do whatever they please without any consequences. 😢😢😢😢😢

More and more, people grow up with fewer and fewer species and beautiful, natural landscapes. So, they have an incomplete understanding of what it is to live. Not the younger generations’ fault, but all the ones before…..especially the last few decades when people are destroying species wholesale. H sapiens and their greed are a pox on the planet.

I love wildlife in our backyard, we have had at least one black bear (going after my bird feeders), 3 raccoons (also going after the feeders), squirrels, chipmunks, a momma groundhog and her two adorable babies, the occasional skunk, hawk, numerous birds, moles, tree frogs, ironically have never seen a snake. They are all welcome and I love seeing them. 👍🏻

I live in the mountains of central Washington state, we have lots of bears, bobcats, etc.. The bear will move on deeper into the woods soon. He just woke up from a long winter hibernation and looking for food. If he does become a menace, call you local game and wildlife rangers and they will trap and relocate him.

Used to have bears, bobcats, coyotes & a male cougar where I had to move from after my husband died. Kept trash in cans in garage until days when landfill was open. Cats were indoor cats & dogs were let out only in fenced areas during the day (worried more about the free range bulls than anything else). It’s walking away from the house so you must be doing a great job with keeping tempting trash locked away. Good for you!

@@j.103 Yes. Even here in the city I had to relocate to after my husband’s death that’s happening. Only a few years ago it was an unusual small city. Trees everywhere. I think I got the last affordable small home before prices skyrocketed. “Investors” came in & development started. Luckily there’s state owned land only a block away that supposedly can’t be developed. All forested. Deer, Javelina, bobcats & many birds of prey are animals I’ve seen there when walking our dog. I have nothing against people who hunt for food. Some of our neighbors where I moved from HAD to supplement that way. It’s people who want to build suburbia everywhere, then shoot every predator they see out of fear rather than learn how to live safely with them. I mean, if there’s no other choice I get it. But they don’t understand that no predators means they may be overrun with rodents, even deer. That happened in some places. They are so wonderful to see. People concern me more.

Those rascals! We had a bear in the UP on Mich and that rascal plowed a hole thru the skirting of our mobile home where he made himself a fancy hibernation hole! We didn't go up in the winter and open up so he was quite comfy. The next winter he knocked a hole on the front side so he could see if anyone was coming up the drive. I kid you not. Our fellow townsmen found it quite entertaining. Yep, he was discussed over many cups of coffee! he

Well, I think he might be smelling some of those fine pastries and donuts you have stashed away in that house. Last I heard he was hanging out at Homer Simpson’s place. DONUTS! Some man literally feeds the bears. Treats them like family. He even puts food out for them out on his very porch. To that I say he is crazy. When he sells his home or passes away I feel sorry for the next people who move in. Those bears have been fed by that man for years now. They are not going to be happy when the food and treats run out.

Only a problem if you habituate them. F&G recommends not even bird feeders here, as the Griz are a problem (one you do not want either). Good looking Bruin.
