Oh I hate the wind!!! I can handle the cold as long as the wind isn’t blowing! My heart goes out to you dear. When kids depart they take a piece of your heart with them.

We had to boil water and mix it with hot and cold and warm so thank God I have a very large shower so we just took a 30 gallon trashcan in there and did an old school bath with a bucket or a power or something yeah it worked for one day till the freeze finally cleared up and my husband fixed the plumbing

I get what you were saying. I had 4 kids under the age of 5. Those early years were a bit of a blur. I was doing it by myself most of the time cause their dad worked or was gone a lot. But I enjoyed every minute of it. Now I live with my oldest, and my daughter lives upstairs with her two older kids and her 2 year old twins. Life is good.

Our well pump went out on Christmas Eve! Hubby and I took a crash course via KZfaq on how to replace it. Thank God Home Depot was open on Christmas Eve so we could purchase the replacement pump. I feel your pain!

Just a tip to any one that is having the issue with the pond water freezing. If you have local access to electricity, get a pond or septic tank aerator (same thing really) to move the water and it will never freeze in that area.

Great video. Just before Christmas one of my sons left home but then one came back home. Those 2 couldnt live together without arguments. Infact the one that just left is one of my twins. Those twins were born when the previous one was only 14 months, it was really hard work especially as their Dad didnt help at all he became alcoholic and we split up. Thank you for being honest and open! Can't take that feeling away but when you look at the blessings to come and just how amazing God's provided...you will be so grateful every day for just how blessed you are and it's a transition not and end. We've been doing that ever since we gave birth. Being a momma, the best gifts to us...but where much is given, much is required. Just remember your not giving up being their mother but there's things we cannot fulfill in their lives and God's provided them the joy of a companion! Having them close is great and having the job local is a blessing! Praying you can transition to your new farm routine and possible work out some help. Too much for us to do alone!

Yes, you are blessed! Congratulations to your son! (and to you and Ben)I I feel your pain over the impending mud! We have had freezing temps and, thankfully, snow. I am truly thankful for the snow because I have had to melt snow in order to water my livestock. Looking forward to not having to do so after today, but that means severe mud coming. It's a lot easier to move square bales of hay in the snow than in the mud!

I get where you are coming from! I grieved all three of my children leaving. It was so hard. However, they all married beautiful people and now have blessed us with a total of 16 grandkids who we absolutely adore. What fun. They all come out from time to time and help us here on our little piece of heaven. They love to help with butchering and canning. We see them often and go to all our grands sporting events, plays, church things, and band and chorus concerts. It truly is a wonderful life. Congratulations to Lane on his job and his upcoming marriage. I know you are so very proud of him. Your daughter is moving into a new phase of life also. How exciting. I will pray for you Andrea because it is hard, but it is so preciously rewarding at the same time, if that makes any sense. God bless.

Hello Andrea, my baby, Emily, is moving out on Tuesday! She is 28 and is now a Dr. of Veterinary Medicine,practicing for a year now. I know it is time for her to experience life without her mama and daddy. She is my third child and the child that I became a stay at home mom. To this day, she has been and is my best friend. I will miss her dearly but know she needs to truly be an adult in this ever changing world. My husband and I have prepared her and her siblings for life, we are proud of them and all their lifestyle decisions. May our children lead a blessed life. ❤😊

I do understand that you are having to adjust but let me tell you, you will be fine. All three of my girls moved out within a year and it was an adjustment but I really am enjoying this time of my life. Being on the other side of raising children isn't so bad after all. ❤️

Yess I went thru that of my 3 sons.. my youngest is 25 my middle is 30 and my oldest is 40 I started very young so I took a little gap before I had another child but now I’m near my 60s and my kids are so thoughtful. They will come and bring me stuff or call me and let’s say they say MOM let’s do Sunday dinner but you don’t have to cook so they’ll bring all the goodies tomorrow is Sunday and my middle child’s birthday he called and said mom could you make me some enchiladas and I’ll have my brothers bring something and we’ll all just enjoy the day at the house I’m an empty Nester now so that means a big deal for me as a mom with three boys now my three has turned into six, because of the wife’s my family is growing. I love them all dearly, and I totally understand how you feel .. sometimes I feel like I’m a little lonely .,but really not my oldest works in a restaurant supply center so he brings me bulk meat on well on his discount and he brought me some today. He said mom I’m bring some more next week I really don’t need it. I got two big freezers 28:45 full of meat, but I am glad that he thinks of me and well it did make me feel like I did something right with them boys now amen ❤️🙏🏽

Andrea, your story is similar to mine except when my youngest was six months old I ended up being a single mother and it was survival mode. It is a total blur for me for a several years. But here’s the blessing one day probably soon you will become a grandmother and you will get that time to relive the moments of your child’s infant years through the amazing grandchildren you will get to experience. It will be an incredible blessing and will be beyond all your wildest dreams!!!! You will absolutely love being a grandmother and you will have an amazing time! Trust that it’s God’s plan and it will happen and I can’t wait to hear you chat about it. We have the opposite happen, New Zealand summer and some idiot forgot to turn the water back on up at the community's storage tank, our sheep drunk our tank dry in 24 hours. Took 36 hours to get full water back.

You and your family had been such a great encouragement to me over the past few years that I been watching you all. To just see how you all have grown spiritually has really shown through you all. To see Layne become a pastor of youth ministry and associate pastor of the church and just made my heart leap inside me, as I am sure it has you and Ben as well. To hear your story of your life today just reminds me allot of mine when I was your and Ben’s age trying to figure out where the lord wanted me to be, and where I could be used of the lord in music ministry. But he had a plan and I served as minister of music in our church for a very long time, and as I grew so did my ministry and I became full time evangelist traveling across the country preaching and singing. Have seen many people saved, filled, and lives restored over the years. Please continue this channel because you help so many of us here on this channel by just your encouraging words of hope and telling of things the lord has did for you and Ben. When you are obedient to hood voice, and answer the call that is when he will begin to bless everything you put your hands to and touch.

This time is bittersweet! On another note we bought a high tunnel via your affiliate link from Growers Solutions and didn’t get it up until late July so haven’t used it yet. Was just starting my seed planning and we got our first snow I think it was Monday (I’m in SE Tennessee) and the whole high tunnel caved in and is a complete loss. I never even used it.
