Am I the only one slightly conflicted that they used a sequel song for this. I know it fits the moment of the story, but I don’t know maybe it is just me.

This song was in the musical before the sequel, so the sequel used this song for their opening scene.

The song was used before the sequel. It was on Rhythm of the Pride Lands (music inspired by/in the Lion King) and then they used that and other songs in the show.
