I'm with you brother the best ones I've ever gotten from dead people whose rich relatives didn't care about it it the one that got me started was I pulled up and they were throwing all the antique and find china and losses all the crystal Inn the dumpster and then they were putting muddy boards from a backyard Planters on top of it that's a little they cared that's the reality of how much people care about their dead loved ones that I've seen over and over in my three years of doing this the gold things that go on the top of your shoulders on military uniforms are called epaulets

At 4.30 you pulled out what you called a heating blanket. It is actually a geri pad, for a person who has an issue with incontinence. I used to work in hospitals and nursing homes and seen many of those. The heavy padding on the back keeps the bedding from getting messed up, if an accident happens.

I find it very sad and disrespectful when family does not care about a deceased family's belongings that meant so much to that person. For some reason that person at one time had to carefully pack it up and put it in a storage , that for for some reason was never able to get back to it and then passed. Breaks my heart. I'm so glad that at this time you are finding and appreciating this mans belongings and treasures interesting and treating them with respect such as he did.

Llnda Discher At the end of the day it's just stuff... You can't hold on to all of the deceased person's stuff. We'd all be up to our eyebrows in unused things if we couldn't let go. Keep the memories, and the personal ,and meaningful things, and let go of the stuff.

you would find a teepee in the plains of the mid west used mostly by the Apache tribe around the 1800's. easy to set up and tear down to move from one place to another. they usally was made of buffalo hide and there is a flap at the top so smoke can exscape then closed to keep heat inside. sorry for my spelling not the sharpest tool in the shed for spelling :D

As my grandparents, Parents, Aunts and Uncles have aged and eventually died, I have been responsible for dealing with all the stuff they have left behind. As much as we want to keep as much as we can, we are limited with what we can take with us due to space constraints in our own homes, duplication of items (how many sets of dishes can you need??) and the feeling of being overwhelmed by the sheer mass of stuff. You have to be ruthless when you go thru things. (some people can even say cold) . You keep a few things for sentimental reasons (photos, jewelry, etc) but the rest just has to go! Thank god there are people like YOU who can come in, sort things, sell things and close out this chapter! Because if not, we would be a land of hoarders

You are so correct. My mother's last remaining sister died in Nov. My cousin could not force herself to sort through all of the clothes she left, so she bagged them all up and brought them to my mother, who doesn't really need them. My mother will be 90 in April. And she's a hoarder. Not like you see on those shows, but I have to sneak things that are worn out or broken out of the house and hope she forgets them. When she dies I will have the task of sorting her things. Neither of my brothers will help, but they'll both complain when I donate most of her belongings to a local charity.

My Mom was the last remaining parent who died. She had clothes from 1947 that I had to deal with! And teeny tiny shoes (she wore a 5 AA shoe!) and junk and knickknacks and absolutely NOTHING of any actual worth. My husband and I (we live in Florida) went to Northern Indiana in JANUARY to deal with this mess. We took 19 garbage bags of clothes out of ONE room! I lost track of how many bags we had in total. We took 57 pairs of high heeled shoes to goodwill. I gave away stuff to her neighbors and friends and there was STILL so much stuff! After 10 days we were exhausted, but the closets and dressers were empty. We left the household goods for my brother and sister in law to deal with. We both took a few things (mostly to give our kids) and left the rest for an estate sale in the early summer. Whatever was left after the estate sale we gave to good will and the actual trash (magazines, paperwork from 1950, junk) went into a dumpster we had to rent. Until you deal with this up close and in person you have no idea of the magnitude of STUFF that people have!!!

I have a piece of the original cabling for the bridge and am always looking for things about the bridge and its construction. If you decide to part with that particular book I would be interested I couldnt tell if it was hardcover or paperback.

So sad, I still have things that were my grandmother's and uncles. I have tons of things my mother has given me over the years. My mother dull has my grandma's things and my grandfather's! I just can't imagine walking away and not even caring enough to even go thru it a bit and keeping some things! It might not have been important to them but it was to him and is just sad.

I don't think it's about not wanting it; it may just be too painful. They may not want to find something that may tarnish their memory of their loved one. It's not about ignorance; it's about respect for the deceased and what the material items may have meant to him/her. I lost my dad and my heart shatters when I see something that reminds me of him. I took care of him during the time he suffered until the esophagus cancer eventually took him. I knew what meant the most to him. His family probably knew that too. That person obviously had some type of connection to the terms to care enough to pack, label and store them. I'm not trying to be condescending or anything else but giving a different point of view. Showing respect while showing interest in fascinating and grand or collectable items may change the point of view of the viewers. Turning in personal items such as photos/documents to the office is also a nice gesture. Unwrap the item with honor and integrity showing respect for the deceased, show the interest and excitement of the interesting find (when there is one), explain what you know about it. But for the most part, you already do these things, it's just sometimes I think people get offended by the way things get tossed around like junk. When I see it, it hurts my heart. Of course you'll do want you want, I just want to give my take on this. I like watching your videos because of some of the awesome finds but I have ended up teary eyed over some of the stuff.

Under the spreading Chestnut tree, the village smithy stands; The smith a mighty man is he, with large and sinewy hands; And the muscles of his brawny arms are as strong as iron bands. The first stanza of The village blacksmith, by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Seeing the print @15:25 clicked a memory switch, I guess. I had to memorize that poem in the 3rd grade I'll be 65 this year, you do the math, too damn long ago for me to count!!! So any way do a little research and check out the print, I could be wrong, but maybe not. It sure fits the poem, if you can match it to the poem it will be worth a bit more, Worth checking out anyway, and I would like to know as well!!! Later.

Just a thought...check to see if the local historical society, County Library or historical associations would like to buy the books according to their subject. They offer or pay buy a price you designate. They sort, make the offer, you get the money with little work involved. Have them sign an agreement if a book is worth more than say 50.00 USD they must split the price 50/50. (or whatever percent you like) especially with private collectors. If they cheat you guys get the full price when sold or refund if sold plus any legal fees. I don't know if you can put this type of thing without a lawyer but it's worth a try. I used to have to sign similar things for the photos taken of me or the artwork created using my modelling. You could also sell to used book stores. Also if it matters to you look for 1st editions, famous writers, books made into movies etc. Then sell them in mixed items auctions. Good luck.

Navajo do not live in tee pee, they live in a hogan , i am part mayan but british and i know that , lol that is not the property of a navajo , who mostly prefer to be called Dine , its said din nay by the way , navajo was a spanish name for them , The Origin of the Name "Navajo" "Navajo" is a Spanish adaptation of the Tewa Pueblo word navahu'u, meaning "farm fields in the valley." Early Spanish chroniclers referred to the Navajo as Apaches de Nabajó ("Apaches who farm in the valley"), which was eventually shortened to "Navajo.", i took that quote from google

Omg that painting "horse and buggy” used to hang in my home when I was a kid, I’d spend ridiculous amounts of time staring at it and wishing I could live there...talk about a childhood memory, I loved that thing. Some of the train mags etc. May be collectible to train enthusiasts btw.

Someone is going to buy the lockers of deceased people might as well be you, at least you show them respect . The haters are either jealous or do not understand the reality of what's involved with buying and selling units. Like you all ways say scared money don't make money! Great video.
