That's a fact. I work for a stevedore company and shit got way outta hand after the first couple weeks. Months of working 16 hours a day and more and more responsibilities kept piling on. Eventually I'm to the point all of my hats are no longer sustainable, meaning mistakes happen because I'm over worked, spread thin. Always a huge fallout from mistakes but no recognition for the hundreds of thousands of dollars I've saved the company. Always ask for a thorough job description/ SOP for your position before you take the job. That was my mistake.

Yeah this short is edited with purposeful disinformation. Tony didn’t know anything about the job other than “driving a doctor.” Dr. Shirley wanted to warn him upfront what he was expecting from the position. Tony wasn’t even insulted, he understood that’s what was being asked and refused because it’s not the kind of work he does, and countered with what more he could offer instead.

It wasn't even a ridiculous list of things (do laundry and stay on top of the itinerary; that's really not a lot), and he specifically told Tony what the job would be for. Tony then essentially told Don, "The job you're offering is not something I'm willing to do. If you value my skills and what parts of the job that I am willing to do, I'd be happy to take the job." Driver understood that, but he had limits on what he was comfortable with and laid out that he was willing to drive and protect him, give guidance where needed, but he wasnt willing to be a hand maid to anyone, and made the counter offer, that he would do as much as he was comfortable for a little extra money, and he was aware of the risks, probably a bit more than his prospective boss realized given what we see later in the movie where the boss doesnt appreciate the amount of risk he was really in while wondering the deep south, even in black neighborhoods where him being wealthy wasnt going to be universally praised or liked.

Bruh he gotta ask that? Are you ok working for black man? Is it that bad over there?
@kalishiva18Ай бұрын
Oh bless your heart. Back in the 50s, 60s, mostly 70s. Honestly. I think you should research it. Because there is just so much sad history towards black people. That once you go down this rabbit hole, you're not gonna be looking at black skin the same way and you're not gonna look at white skin the same way. But please keep in mind, not every person that was white was a bad person. Also, please remember some white people actually have culture. I'm Romanian, so I have culture. I don't see race like everybody else did and I was born nineteen eighty

You do realize this is a movie that takes place 60 years ago. Racism still exists in the US. But the sort of widespread institutionalized mass racism that the movie depicts has been a thing of the past for decades now. You would have to find the most backwater Hicksville podunk town to accidentally run into that level of issue that they are talking about here. Its more likely for Romani in much of Europe or Chinese in Japan(or almost any other combination of Asian countries) to run into that sort of organized violence then the average African American to run into here. Unless you specifically go searching for it.
