So when officers try to use that, they are missrepresenting the law, and can be charged. And, as long as you dont threaten, you can say what ever you want. Being a PCSO is a dead end job. There is no natural progression up the ranks like there is with constables. Just like a traffic warden or lollipop lady, there’s not really any opportunity for promotion.

I have great respect for police officers but not the ones who use the uniform to gain information by informing the public that it is law to do so. I tried to report a driver for hitting a stationary car and then driving off ( hit and run). The clerk and officer at the station were not interested. It is these individuals that gets up my nose. If I knew the rules, I would have reported these people to the correct office. But I guess with their attitude I was going to report them but I guess it would not go very far. Emma, just saying, how would you like your property to be damaged, and when a witness walks to the police station to make a statement they fob the witness off, how would you feel? It is these officers or clerks that I have no respect for. To the majority I salute them for helping to keep us safe.
