Yeah, I think (not diagnosing it) that she has hypnopompic hallucinations, it's when you wake up, you're conscious and awake but you can't tell the difference between what's real and what's not (you're still dreaming). It can be sooooo scary if you don't what it is! Some people have it when they get sleep paralysis. I have been having these hallucinations since I was 15 y/o and (for me) it's related to anxiety :/ My twin has it too.

@@mauder.-b.9360 i suffer from insomnia and once had a sleep paralysis with hallucination. I knew that i wasn't sleeping, because i felt my body but i couldn't move or talk(i tried to scream). My first thought was that i'm having a stroke. But then i've read up about sleeping paralysis and all my symptoms match. With me not having enough sleep it'll probably happen again, but as you said i think it won't be as scary now knowing what it is.

My friend actually had this happen to her once. Two guys broke in whilst she was in the house alone when we were about 16/17. She was on the phone to both her mum and the police when one walked into her bedroom. Luckily they ran when they saw her, but I just imagine all the horrible things that could've happened instead. Worst part about living alone IMO.

Gab, actually if you see the intruder at the front door, you can start locking all the doors as your mom advised, especially the back door and then hide. By doing so, it delays the intruder from trying to get in and Paula will be rushing towards the front door, enough to scare the intruder away. She'll be ringing the front door as usual and soon after, the cops arrive. It saves you the stress of dealing with him indoors.

My parents never left the state with me home alone, but my sister and I (we're twins) were around 12 when we changed where we got off the bus from the babysitter's to our home and we'd spend hours after school alone. We'd had a couple "trial runs" before that when my parents would run into town for stuff (1 hr driving round trip + time for whatever they were doing). It was great. (This was before cell phones, so mom and dad wouldn't know something had gone wrong until they got back home.)

My brother and I were latchkey kids as well. My mother had to work 3 jobs after her and my dad divorced, so from the age of like 11 I knew how to cook, clean, and do my laundry. She left the state once and left the country another time, and even then she told the babysitter she hired to just show up at around 8 PM to make sure we bathed and fed ourselves, and didn't set anything on fire. I have only ever had one vivid nightmare, I was at a park at night that had a bit of a hill overlooking a building and these three men, two with face coverings and one having blonde hair shot another guy at that building. Since I was sitting on top of the hill I witnessed it all and they knew it so they shot at me, thankfully I got away and got home but I went to go to sleep that night(meta as hell) and outside of my window I saw three men, one having blonde hair, in the dim streetlight looking towards my window. @@Kraftst0ff oh absolutely. I'm personally fine with not seeing my bedroom door but that layout was a damn mess! So much space just, there, not being used in any proper way! Then again the thought of seeing a door open, but either not seeing anyone standing there, or knowing they can see ME freaks me out. If a door opens and I can't see who's opening it, they can't see me either, and I can hide.

Gab talking about scary dreams I gotta unload too. I'm one of those people that have sleep paralysis ish thing, and I say "ish" because I can move. My brain is just between sleeping and being awake so I see shadow people. Nothing scary like you said about there being a guy at the edge of the mattress (that sounds genuinly horrible!!!) but people walking past my door, maybe 2 shadow people chatting in another room that I can see because of a mirror. And one of the wildest ones was grass appearing on my floor leading up to my wall and then there was a woman just hangin, chillin out, on my wall. They only last for a couple of seconds but I keep getting scared awake from it and then I'm like "oh, the shadow people.. yes..." and then I just go to sleep again. Incredibly greatful I can actually turn around and go to sleep tho, I'm quite scared of getting paralysis part of it as well.

I had this really spooky experience after watching another one of your horror vids recently. I was home alone, left my room to do something, closed the door behind me because I couldn't let my cat out (flea quarantine), and when I returned to my room, the door didn't open! I thought my own door had gotten locked from the other side. It turns out, though, that I just hadn't used enough strength on the knob for some reason. But I stood there wide-eyed for a moment and still felt uncomfortable walking back in after that. The feeling stayed with me for a while after, what if I wasn't alone, and someone had locked my own door? What were they doing in my room? :S

I had one of those weird room layouts like that game. And at first, I had my bed where I couldn't see the front door immediately, and it took a week of being home alone at like 14 to change that lol. Being home alone a lot was really nice until it wasn't, lol. This was so spooky! I loved it.

@9:58 I once had a very similar sleep paralysis dream. The man was resting his chin on the end of the mattress directly, rather than on his hands. He didn't have a face, just a blank void where the face should have been, and he was gripping either side of mattress. I suddenly started gravitating towards him like I was on a conveyor belt and since it was a sleep paralysis thing I couldn't move, but I pretty quickly woke up.

I would freak out with the house colour and the layout too. I WOULD ALWAYS BRING WATER TO MY BEDROOM. Because I would literally wake up at night. If I saw any light at all, I would lose my moment of sleepiness. And all the doors are always locked, I dont care if its my friends unless they call me that they are here. (But I wouldnt have friends going at 1am). Dogs are really good at knowing when theres an intruder, our dogs are big so ppl would be freaked tf at. And I would always see the door in my bedroom.

I was always scared to stay home alone when I was younger. When my parents went for trips, I left lights on in one room, and I was checking all the corners and wardrobes at home. My sleep was very bad . Now I’m 31, and after some events in my life, I don’t have any problem to be only one at home. If someone intrudes my house, it would be THEIR problem.

I’m currently 27, but my parents started leaving me home alone at like age 11. They would leave THE STATE (I love in the USA) and have me in charge of the whole house for like a week at a time. I loved it so much. But there were definitely where I would get spooked and lock my self in my room with my dogs lol

Something similar happened to me I was home alone (with my brother but he was always outside) I decided to not go with my parents on holiday I wanted to play video games, I heard some noises and I grabbed the doorknob of my room and hold it closed and I was shouting "get out of my house! I have a gun!", I heard foot steps in the stairs again and again.. At some point, it stopped, so I decided to open the door.. It was our cat that I thought was outside but my brother came while I was playing I didn't hear him he let the cat come in.
