Spain are a quick pass and move team, Scotland is not. By having the grass long you are helping to nullify Spain. This is nothing new. Do you remember the time when Chelsea were playing Barca, when Jose was Chelsea manager? In the leg played at Stamford Bridge the club let the grass die, and it was very bumpy. Why? Because it hurt Barca's ability to play the ball quickly, and dribble the ball. This is a tactic that is not unique to the Scotland game. As I say, I don't blame Scotland at all, it's part of the game.
