To support my efforts to create more clips please donate to me at www.patreon.com/allinaday. Keep watching. His father just gets worse. Here is another clip of him - • He Shares Why His Marr... . I find him quite incredible with all that he endured and I admire his blunt storytelling style. But watching his face, the pain is still inside him. I had a business several years ago that trained local videographers around the USA to do my kind of interviewing. We offered the service to family members interested in having one of my videographer interviewers conduct a one hour interview with a family member as a legacy video. This man was one of the videos we made. Unfortunately, the business didn't succeed and there were several reasons why. This was recorded in 2008.

Its amazing how interesting the interview of someone that is a total stranger can be. That just proves everyone has a story and it is most definitely worth hearing. I've met people who were by no means a celebrity or famous but they had done and seen some amazing things. David, I'm kind of surprised your business didn't take off. That seemed like a cool idea.

Wow...there is so much to be read between the lines. This story, his story, was so captivating; i wish i knew the rest. Two part that particularly captured my attention: 15:38-16:08 and the very last line. In both cases, he really showcases his amazing outlook on life, in spite of the terrible treatment he received.

I'd love to hear how his life turned out once he reached adulthood. What does he do for a living, does he have wife and kids, etc. Too often, especially coming from a far east country as I was, we hear the term "American dream", but until you see another perspective at the other end of the spectrum you tend to take a lot of things for granted. Great story.

You can never judge a book by it's cover. I appreciate listening to these stories as you can never really now what the people around you are experiencing or going through. This guy seems to have done well for himself despite his tough upbringing. America, just like any country, still has it's flaws but the wonderful thing about living in America is that no matter your past you can still find success and happiness if you work hard.

A tale of opposite reactions to Life. This man took those horrible situations and learned how to cope and endure and survive. His sister went the opposite direction. I am reminded of a story; probably made up, but one that illustrates this same situation. The story is of an interviewer who is interviewing 2 Brothers. They grew up in the same family and experienced the same family troubles. The Father was very much like this man's Dad...an abusive alcoholic. The Mother became a drug addict to try and cope with the awful home life. One Brother grows up to be a model citizen and family man; the other brother becomes a criminal and in prison. This interviewer asks both Brothers the same question...That with the home life that you had, why did you grow up to be the kind of person that you are today ? Both Brothers gave the same answer...That with the home life that they had, what choice did they have..!

Sounds like his mom was a lot tougher than his dad. The world of the 50s - 70s didn’t give her or any women options to live a truly free life. Reminds me of the Scarsdale doctor, where she ‘killed her abusive husband because she meant to kill herself.’

@acchaladka
@acchaladka 3 жыл бұрын
@@kingarthur1217 sure, as a result of fighting for it, and big strides have been made (as well as significant detours unfortunately). However in the seventies a woman still generally was expected to play number two to her husband or any man, didn’t have full rights in all states or countries, could be fired for getting older, needed a male co-signer on the bank account, etc. And yes, that was progress from the 1950s. Italy only legalized divorce at all in 1977, the US allowed a woman choice over her body only in 1971.

@@acchaladka Abortion is complete sin, but sure, women had it sorta worse in the 70s. But it was fine; Men who abuse their wives completely should be punished, but why shouldn't wives support their husbands in a number two role when the husband does what he should, and is goo to the wife?

Finally I finished his story. What I wished was more of a "conclusion", like what he and his mother did after that point; he got into such and such line of work and the mother went off on her own, etc. I wished the mother or son reported the physical abuse to the police. I wished they had a relative that beat the crap out of his father for the abuse. I have a friend that experience much of the same until he got big and tough enough to take on his father, but that was a long time coming and before that time, the father even got worse.
