From the sheer high number of abandoned properties in that area I don’t think there’s much of a market to sell. People can’t afford to buy houses anymore, let alone one that needs extensive repairs.

Another great transformation, Spencer! Hey, I saw a piece of equipment in another guy's videos (forget who now, will comment if I remember) who used something like a power broom/sweeper, an attachment on his weed eater, like a paint roller but with hard bristles like a chimney sweep brush, and he just tore up that edging work with that thing, no shovel needed. Just an edger for the sharp line, and that roller broom thing for all the rest. He took several hours of shoveling down to a few minutes power-brooming, plus it broke it up for mulching and flung it off into the grass. The back you save might be your own, in a few years, bro! Hi from Czech republic/Slovakia (Europe). I like your videos, so satisfying to watch :D But everytime I just stop and realize how different perspectives we (USA vs EU) have. Here this is perfectly good grass, insects have place to stay, bees are happy and it provides some cooling from the concrete all around. It is rare to see that perfectly trimmed grass over here, and to you (and neighbors) it is outrageos grass that is longer than 6 cm (2.6 in). :D

One thing that gets me with these is how much the grass overgrows the sidewalk. It doesn't do that up here, at least not in less then multi-decade time scales. Of course, I'm way far north so don't get near the warm weather grass likes.
