It's interesting to watch this with the backlash Tyla has been getting.very funny but so much wisdom in this

He is mixed race, right in the middle, half black and half white., and he was seen as mixed by both sides, growing up it was actually illegal to be, to have mixed race children... That's why the "enthusiasm" for being called black...

Trevor tried to educate people in the nicest way about what being coloured means in South Africa. I hope everyone takes something away from this piece of comedy
@7reasonss__Ай бұрын
That's why I'm always confused when Americans act lost when Tyla says she's coloured but Trevor has educated them long time ago 😒
@prettysemiDАй бұрын
@@7reasonss__”Trevor has educated them long ago”…commented on a video my creators who said they’d never even heard Trevor’s standup before and 1 who’d never even seen a picture of him… I’m not sure how he has “educated” all of the people from the U.S. when there are plenty who still don’t know who he is. The U.S. is a huge country and among the largest in the world (#3 out of 195)….but I guess that somehow also gets lost in your confusion. Keep thinking you know Americans and even what the country looks like just because of media. I’m sure you’ll be right some of the time. 🙌 ❤

@@prettysemiD Even if he hasn't, your ignorance to other people's cultures can be solved simply by doing your own research instead of attacking that girl every time she tries to explain herself. If Tyla went to America claiming she was black and then you guys found out that she was actually coloured, you would've thrown a fit too and said she was "black fishing"🤷🏽♀️

Americans don't understand what coloured means. Its something completely different than colored. Americans cant tell the whole world to think and say the same as them
@prettysemiDАй бұрын
lol in the U.S., the word would still be spelled “colored.” Yes, different countries have different caste systems. Rarely does someone in the U.S. try to make someone within their country call themselves anything in particular. What they may do though is within their own country…use their own words for the caste system that exists there. No one can make them think or say the same thing as them either haha. Love your comment ❤❤❤

@@prettysemiD thank you, I thought I would get a ton of hate like people are doing to Tyla. She's saying she's a proud south Coloured woman and people lost their minds. No I was just saying we spell it differently color vs colour ❤️

You do realize that he is talking about black Americans... For the whites, mixed or not they are all black, but for black Americans, you don't really accept mixed one as black.. Until they are successful and rich.
@prettysemiDАй бұрын
Hahaha Trevor was speaking about his perception of how black Americans saw mixed people while he was still in South Africa. This was from media he saw. His account of when he physically arrived shows that people saw him as black and not simply “mixed.” So that impression shown by the media was not completely true. FYI, black Americans who have been in the country for centuries are mixed. 🤷♀️ the more you know…
