lol in the U.S., the word would still be spelled “colored.” Yes, different countries have different caste systems. Rarely does someone in the U.S. try to make someone within their country call themselves anything in particular. What they may do though is within their own country…use their own words for the caste system that exists there. No one can make them think or say the same thing as them either haha. Hahaha Trevor was speaking about his perception of how black Americans saw mixed people while he was still in South Africa. This was from media he saw. His account of when he physically arrived shows that people saw him as black and not simply “mixed.” So that impression shown by the media was not completely true. FYI, black Americans who have been in the country for centuries are mixed. 🤷‍♀️ the more you know…
