Returning to the mine he operates with his brother and two friends, Willett Gashade learns that his brother has fled after causing an accident in town. Leland Drum, who accompanied him that evening, was shot and killed. It is then that an enigmatic young woman arrives at the mine looking for an escort in exchange for a large sum of money.

The Shooting 1966. In the American West, Willet Gashade (Warren Oates), a former bounty hunter, and Coley Boyard (Will Hutchins), his dimwitted partner, are approached by a secretive young woman (Millie Perkins) who offers them money to guide her through the desert but refuses to discuss why she is traveling. The group embarks on the journey and is eventually joined by Billy Spear (Jack Nicholson), a volatile gunslinger the woman has also hired. The only question is why.

Jack must like westerns...The credits said he was co- producer of this one. This is about as low budget as it gets for a film... empty desert, 4 guns, 6 horses etc...they used that dying white horse dummy twice. I can't explain the ending ?

The movie is called The Shooting -1966. An ex- bounty hunter (Warren Oats) turned miner returns to his mine dig to find one of his partners dead, his brother has run away and the remaining partner (Will Hutchins) who is slightly simple is unclear as to what happened. The brother and the dead partner got into some kind of trouble when they went to town. Gashade is enlisted by a mysterious women (Millie Perkins) to take her across the desert. The woman keeps changing her mind about where she wants to go. On the journey they pick up a gunslinger the woman has hired. The party ends up tracking a rider who is ahead of them and Gashade figures out that the trip is really to hunt the rider. It's a long hot trip across the desert with a purposeful woman,a homicidal gunslinger, the former bounty hunter, his simple sidekick, (Will Hutchins) a bearded stranger and the unknown

Que des longueurs, rien à quoi "s'attacher", rien à comprendre, rien à en tirer. Jusqu'au dernier moment j'ai espéré un fil conducteur, une intrigue, une petite explication, mais rien. Circulez, y'a rien à voir !!! Mais MERCI quand même pour le boulot de mise en ligne.

Ma che diavolo di modo di fare un finale é? La storia é originale anche .. ma il finale é assurdo .. salti .. cavalli che spariscono .. gente che appare a piedi mentre 1 secondo prima era in sella, un killer che improvvisamente si mette a fare a pugni nonostante potesse sparare, e dulcis in fundo taglio netto dopo aver abbattuto il tizio che in tutto il film si vede per 10 secondi .. avevano finito il budget per caso?

Was war das? Weder Spannung noch Inhalt waren erkennbar. Dazu noch die teilweise unsäglichen Dialoge. Vor allem die Synchronstimme der weiblichen Darstellerin war mehr als grauenhaft. Ich hatte mir das ganze Grauen wegen Jack Nicholson angeschaut. Aber auch er enttäuschte. Mich würde nur interessieren, ob der Regisseur oder wer sonst auch immer, solchen Schwachsinn verantworten kann. Schade um jede Sekunde Drehzeit. Aber der Film hatte auch was Gutes. Es war der schlechteste Film, den ich je ertragen habe und das mit Abstand. Wenn das nichts ist.

Jack Nicholson did another Movie around the same time with Him and two Rovers seeking a Nite at another crews camp [ one room cabin ] right after that crew robbed a stage when the Posse comes the next morning Jack and his rover buddie gets away and seek refuge w/ young girl and her parents funny thing about this movie is that same girl is in this Harry Stanton [ In Cool Hand Luke He Sing Dashboard Jesus ] is in the first movie wearing a eye patch as he robs the stage coach and gets Hung the next Day after a long shoot out but theycaught their Cabin afire

1. Horrible movie. Not a good plot. Sound system not good. Issued the first dislike. 2. Director's goof: When Coley was trying to shoot Nicholson facing him and Nicholson shot him, facing each other. How did Coley received the fatal bullet in back of his head!!!!!!!
