22-year-old Nathan Monchet got "stuck" at Lance's Right with just a few other surfers for 3 months during Indonesia's lockdown . This film details his experiences.
Most interesting among them is how numb to perfect waves Nathan became. So much so that he left a session in which he nabbed 10 barrels in 20 minutes because he was "bored".
Human psychology will never cease to amaze.

being almost 60 yrs old now it totally reminds me of how surf trips used to be ,, sometimes it would be weeks or months before you'd see another surfer especially indo ,, totally different experience then now ,, nice score !!

I can relate. Our office got shut down and we all had to work from home. After a while I also had "a bit to drink". I didn't shave my head though, so I can only imagine how bad he had it. ;)

I've also been living on a small Pacific island with (not as good) surf for the last six months, and that hair thing happened here for both guys and girls. LOL. It was definitely the time to experiment. I'm not really looking forward to leaving my piece of paradise even if it's for home for the holidays. Also, typo: *surfed

Yes, many people have had this experience where they get bored of barrels, you just need bigger ones or time off, I had it at nias a four foot barrel became boring got so many, then u have time off different souroundings you get ure froth back

In 2001 I stayed at lances rights for 2 months in one of the chiefs huts .. no surf resort back then.. got barreled off my face everyday!

I also got my head shaved (clean off) at that surf spot. First and only time in my life to shave my head. (Normally I'm not a skinhead) Loved it bc the temperature is warm there. Felt better without hair.

He left when he heard there was gonna be a lockdown which is exactly the opposite of what he should have done (and likely how the virus kept spreading further). Had he been casually in the Mentawais unable to get home, that would have been a cool story. Instead, it was irresponsible and very selfish of him. And now he is selling his story.
